The 40 books in the children's series were my obsession in elementary and middle school. It was terrifying despite being Christian.
ОтветитьI very much agree that that series made me appreciate my faith so much more ❤️
I really need to do a reread of that series! I read it so fast the first time; twelve books in like two months was a blur 😂
I read them growing up and enjoyed them. I also remember a radio drama too. I don't know how far they went with it, but it was just as good as the books. Thanks for this!
ОтветитьYeah I agree with your assessment. I read these at about the same age, and after about 5 or 6 books, I got so bored and stopped reading. I feel like most of the middle of the series could’ve been chopped out or sped up. The beginning few books were so fast paced!! Then it started to feel like they were just drawing things out to sell more books. I am somewhat kinda of curious to go back and try to read the entire series and actually finish it up.
ОтветитьCorona virus brought me here
ОтветитьI am not a christian (anymore), but i still would like to read these books 😁! If i might give a compliment... you have beautifull hair
ОтветитьIf netflix makes a show about this series (and they do it correctly)It will be my dream come true.
ОтветитьHave you read the book "The Shack"?
Ответить“The Rapture” Book of the series was good. It went into more detail about what was going on in heaven while the Earth below was on chaos.
ОтветитьHi Oceana! Good to see you reading so many books. Like the way you talk. . New friend here. Joined you. Hope you join my Drawing channel too. Thank you, have a great day!
ОтветитьI actually started reading the series over the summer and could not stop reading them. I'm currently on the last book in the series, which is Kingdom Come. My biggest issue was when they would kill off one of the characters.
ОтветитьI've read the all of the Left Behind books. Just finished the series a few days ago.
ОтветитьWhen i was deployed to Afghanistan in 2011 I read all 13 in 8 months. I just started re-reading them i did the first 2 in 3 weeks. Working on 3.
ОтветитьThere’s a book trilogy like left behind called “The Christ Clone Trilogy” by James BeauSeigneur. It’s about a scientist named Harold Goodman who figured human cloning. After gaining access to the Shroud of Turin he made a clone of Jesus that he raised as a son named Christopher Goodman. After a few years a large population of planet drops dead at seemingly random time and the trilogy is about Christopers upbringing, rose to political power then spiritual power and downfall
ОтветитьHey! I’m with you on the 13th book.
ОтветитьYou might want to review the similarly themed novel/BBC miniseries Good Omens, a brilliant piece.
ОтветитьAmazing series. I'm almost done with it
ОтветитьI have read all 15, I plan on reading the Bible start to finish, then the 40 kids books, then the final Kingdom Come book. Excellent series :)
ОтветитьThey should really put "afterlife spoiler alert" in there somewhere.
ОтветитьLiked the all the books but never read the last one.
ОтветитьI've read it when I was in high school
ОтветитьI'd honestly never heard of the series prior to watching the Nic. Cage movie; it left me feeling very confused & I must confess to critiquing it very harshly.
Later, however, I found out that it was supposed to be part of either a trilogy, or a series of films, and that it was a remake; I sought out the original version & didn't like that the actual Rapture (people disappearing) was spoken about but not shown (the one part of the remake I liked & wanted an explanation for). But, whilst watching the original 'Left Behind' movie, I saw that it was actually a trilogy, so watched them all back-to-back, after which I had a much greater appreciation for the story as a whole (rather than judging one movie as standalone).
Anyway, it was whilst raving about how much I enjoyed the trilogy, that I was told it was based on a whole series of books, and that the reason no more movies were made, in the Kirk Cameron series, is because so much "artistic licence" was taken, with the third movie, that Tim LaHaye & Jerry B. Jenkins refused to allow any more to be made by that studio.
So, on the back of that information, I looked up the book series & saw that there are, in fact, three prequel books. Me being the sort to go kinda OCD when it comes to chronology, I still, to this day, haven't yet read the first 'Left Behind' novel (or any of those you list in this video), because I'm still reading the first prequel novel 'The Rising' (which I struggle with due to Internet Addiction currently negating/blocking my previous love of reading books)…
Pray for me?
So yeah, that's my ramble. Thank you for the video 🙏🏻🥰❤️
P.S. — Your video discussing the first four books, which you link to in this video's description, is inexplicably set to Private; you'll need to fix that if we're to be able to watch it. 👍🏻
Thanks a lot, loveu
ОтветитьI read the first 4 books and I hated them but they helped my discover my love for warhammer 40k
ОтветитьNew Christian here, awesome to see that there are beautiful women that are also spiritual
ОтветитьJust finished the series, I was about 9-10 y/o when they first came out. Like you, I’m a Christian that doesn’t subscribe to the Rapture theology, though I would encourage believers and non-believers to read. It’s a fun ride, and some of the intense scenarios did have me questioning how I would witness and endure. Soul Harvest and Nicolae were my favorites. I loved the backdrop of betrayal, political and financial corruption in the first book. My absolute favorite scene ironically was in Desecration where Nicolae storms the temple. The writing and imagery were fantastic. My second favorite moment was in Apollyon where Chaim is agonizing to Buck about from the locust sting. Lastly, the development of Rayford from the beginning to end was incredible. Great series overall. I’ve yet to read Kingdom Come and the prequels.
ОтветитьMy Dear Friend I recently bought this series of books (used but in good condition). Only 12 parts were published in my country. I am just reading the second book in the series ❤️You are amazing, but you already know that 😀
ОтветитьStopped after 2 books. Too much distracting, even silly character interaction... not enough on-point action/drama.
ОтветитьI know I’m late to this, but yes I loved these books. You should definitely do a review of the kids Left Behind series.❤✝️
ОтветитьI'm up to book 9, really enjoying the series
ОтветитьI read up to book 5 Apollyon, then did the dramatic audio versions for the rest. They did a great job on them
I see Revelation as a revenge fantasy against Rome and frankly I dom't believe any of it will happen.
That said: the books are fascinating and well written, I'm listening to Kingdom Come now
I see the series as fun Christian fanfiction. My opinion is that Christians shouldn’t take it too seriously (it is not scripture, obviously) but that it is, at the worst, harmless fun.
ОтветитьI really loved the kids series. ❤️ Great review.
