Whew! It’s been an exhausting couple weeks. I’ve been tiling my grandmother’s bathroom, which has taken much longer than anticipated. Apologies for missing last week’s video but it couldn’t be helped.
I actually almost scrapped this week’s entire video too due to some glitches in the final file which just can’t be fixed, but in the end I decided it wasn’t worth scraping the entire video for just a couple wonky bits. I hope those glitches aren’t too distracting! I have some super fun beauty recipes coming up soon, but for now I hope you enjoy this casual little peak into my vintage postcard collection.
What a coincidence, I just posted on my blog about my (very small) postcard collection! It's interesting that you buy yours for the writing first, and the art second, I bought mine for the opposite. I love the artwork and only after buying for the artwork did I start to appreciate the correspondence on the back.
ОтветитьI collect vintage postcards too!! ❤️ I usually only buy the ones that have vintage couples. I think their so sweet and beautiful ❤️❤️❤️ I get all of my postcards from ebay 👍 By the way, I think Mrs Potts is watching you 😂😂😂 the tea cup behind you on the right 🤣
ОтветитьDamn is really awesome in my opinion !!
ОтветитьI see albums full of these all the time in antique stores. While I don't collect them, its fun to page through them. If you like cards you should go see cream of cards tv. He has really cool animated Victorian cards.
ОтветитьWow! Tiling a bathroom? That's hard work! Fun collection to have to look through. Liked the guy's comment who is hoping for the dog. ;0)
ОтветитьRetro girl who collects postcards.......my kinda dame.
ОтветитьGreat 👍 channel
Very fun!
Pretty smile - very engaging!
Love postcards! I’ve bought a few on eBay!
Do you have a binder with sleeves that you could recommend? I have many postcards and need a good way to store them.
ОтветитьI got a bunch of these from my great great grandma they’re so interesting
Ответитьtoday I went to an antique shop and found I was interested in postcards like this. I found a whole set from when two people went to Lake Erie in 1942 and I found the address they were sent to on google as well as who sent them and who they were sent to on ancestry. Quite intriguing and I think I will definitely be collecting these from now on. I also found one from 1910 sent from Paris to York Pennsylvania which I thought was interesting. Lovely video
Ответить... very nice, thank you !!! 👍 53
ОтветитьYou're exactly the same as me! I collect used vintage postcards that have a beautiful image and interesting message❤ I always buy them on Etsy~
ОтветитьAll of the post cards I have I got from ebay. Nearing a hundred which my then I will have to order an album for safe keeping but I tend to collect from early 1900s to more recently but you are right about the stamps. They are undeniable proof of card dating and what makes it fore exciting for me.
ОтветитьI am, also, a collector. My collection began because I was doing a genealogy project and was looking for images to illustrate it. My great-grandparents moved to Charleston, SC USA in 1900. So, I began collecting cards that depicted 'their' Charleston and other same-period (pre-1925) that I can associate with my Charleston subject, ie A Gibson girl in the theatre with a picture of a Charleston Theatre. So, my collection is a little restricted in subject matter but has grown to quite a few. I, too, love reading the messages.
ОтветитьThat was pretty cool thanks for the share ...
ОтветитьHi, I just want to say that I truly enjoy your videos! I love all of the Edwardian/Victorian and the 20s-40s content you do! I also collect antique post cards, specifically 1919 and earlier and mostly Christmas ones! I have been into collecting some Bible themed, Thanksgiving themed, and some Birthday themed ones as well! For me, I love a beautiful image on the front (preferably an intricate or ornate one - I even love the glittery or brassy golden ones too), and I also love inscriptions on the back, and when they're dated as well!!! I usually get mine from antique stores, although I have ordered a few off of Etsy when I first started collecting them! I thoroughly enjoyed your Christmas and Winter themed videos and your etiquette ones as well! I would love to see more of them and also more rose/lavender themed ones!
