Have you seen Lowlifes? It's on Tubi. Excellent horror film very underrated.
ОтветитьI think the werewolf connection people get from Brotherhood of the Wolf (aside from the title!) is that it is based on the real life legend of Beast of Gévaudan, a series of horrible mutilations and murders in the small village of Gévaudan, France in the 18th century, supposedly caused by an oversized wolf, and many believed, an actual werewolf! Check out the history, it’s pretty amazing!
ОтветитьI love Snatchers. I bought it a few years ago on a whim at Half-Price books. Movie is so crazy and fun.
ОтветитьMonkey Shines is nonsense. Just grab the tiny thing and wring it's neck
ОтветитьPhantoms was a fantastic BBB movie fun stuff
ОтветитьRumpelstiltskin rules! Here I come little Johnny!
ОтветитьInterestingly, or not, the thing I remember most about Monkey Shines isn't anything from the movie except the final scene (won't ruin it) but that after we left the theater, it was about 9pm at night, so sun's down and a train derailed and exploded about 10 miles from us and completely lit up the entire sky.
Like i said, interestingly....or not.
Snatchers is a total unsung hero! Definitely worth a watch! Just a fun movie!
ОтветитьWitch subversion i thought was a really good movie with an slow storyline that builds up to an awesome action scene
ОтветитьAside from the title, a reason Brotherhood of the Wolf gets lumped into the werewolf genre is because it heavily plays into the idea that the creature may very well be one until its true nature is finally revealed. Essentially it IS a werewolf movie with a twist. It is, by far, one of the most unique and brilliant movies I've ever seen (and that comes from a lifetime cinephile that has seen hundreds if not thousands of movies and tv at this point). I often recommend it to anyone that hasn't seen it in part because of how it masterfully weaves several genres together to provide entertainment to fans of any one of them. Gans was a brilliant and capable director whom I wished we got to see more of.
ОтветитьI see the Rumpelstiltskin image and celebrate! yay! definite underseen gem!
the rest of your list is meh - Brotherhood of the Wolf is baaaad
here are some others:
Little Witches
Deranged (1987)
Ballad of Tam Lin
also, if you've not seen RAVENOUS, it's a must
Rumpelstiltskin is based on true stories. Look up Simon of Trent and then do a deep dive into the topic. Don’t let buzzwords deter you.
ОтветитьBadass Monster Killer
ОтветитьBrotherhood of the Wolf. . Watched it long ago and still tell people about the scene where its dark and raining and there is someone on a horse with its head crouched down ...yeah...go figure. Something as simple as that
ОтветитьThanks for mentioning rumpelstiltskin i had been trying to find that movie for the longest i had started to think i just dreamed that they made it cause nobody act like they didnt know what i was talking about
ОтветитьThe guy who plays Rumple did such an awesome job, he totally makes the flick. Love it.
ОтветитьI loved snatchers thought is was so funny 😊
ОтветитьSaw monkey shines years ago pretty good
ОтветитьWhat's really eerily good, about you & I, is that our rooms (albeit, different rooms i.e.; your's bed?—mine living) look quite similar. ALMOST identical, Karloff/Mummy movie marque, skull and candles, DVDs. I don't know what else, 'cause I can't see further. Sci-fi /horror, nerd?? I liked that personal depiction, as that be, I also!!! Just found out 'bout 'The Beast With Five Fingers'?? I seen that, when I was a little kid, 50+ years back. That's 'cause you're, much younger. 'Comfort movie'??? Wow, that phrase, does make sense. I guess all us film aficionados, kinda possess a flick, like that. I subbed to your channel, couple years ago, but this upload, I would re-sub again☺️. Plus you don't give, the end of the movies, away.
Want to see something, interesting??? View a pic, titled: 'The Face Of Terror' (1962), with Lisa Gaye🥺 (Debra Pagents', sister👍).
The Substance is the latest movie that shocked me. Had no idea it would be what it was. My mouth was hanging open through most of the movie....jaw dropping!
ОтветитьYes! Brotherhood of the Wolf is a masterpiece. It is definitely one of a kind, and for me it will never get old, no matter how many times I watch it (in English overdub or in its original French dialogue). Mark Dacascos is a phenomenal martial artist and the action sequences in the film by everyone are outstanding and highly entertaining. It's also really interesting that it's loosely based on real events surrounding Gevaudan France in the 1700's when a "beast" terrorized the people and killed over a hundred over several years.
ОтветитьWatch Reanimstrr
ОтветитьYou wouldn't know a good horror movie if it slapped it in your face
ОтветитьDo you have a real job cuz you suck at this one dude
ОтветитьI am ride or die for Peter Lorre. Please check out his radio show if The Horla!
Ответить❤ Brotherhood of the Wolf!! On top of everything, it’s based (loosely) on true events when a mystery beast attacked and killed a ridiculous number of people in 1760s Gevaudan, France.
ОтветитьI just watched glorious because of this video. Thanks.
Ответитьyou're not seeing me, but Im standing up clapping every single pick you made for this video, they're spotless, really awesome picks, I love them all. Its weird because Ive never ever in my life had someone who had a similar taste than I, and you're the closest Ive found, obviously not 100%, but an unrivalled 80%. And also makes me proud that I share taste with a very intelligent and decent guy, great channel you have!
ОтветитьRumpelstiltskin is hilarious!
ОтветитьBrotherhood of the Wolf is great, but it's basically just a spiced-up retelling of Arthur Conan Doyle's 'The Hound of the Baskervilles' (which is probably why it's so good).
ОтветитьGoing to give Glorious a watch. Looks right up my alley. thanks!
ОтветитьI love brahms
ОтветитьBrotherhood of the wolf reminds me of The Beast Of Gevaudan
ОтветитьThe Idle Hand is a new age remake of The Beast with Five Fingers
ОтветитьDario Argentos Mother of Tears is a surprisingly good film
ОтветитьThanks for the old picks ! No one can stand the new WOKE crap they are sh----- out in Hollywoke !!
ОтветитьGreat List! Have you watched Intensity (1997) also based on a Dean Koontz novel.
ОтветитьMy paperback of Night Shift with the story The Monkey by Stephen King also has that dammned toy monkey on it!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьLeprechaun III is a classic. I haven’t seen Rumplestillskin. But I will on Daniel’s recommendation.
ОтветитьI saw The Boy in the theater when it came out. Great movie.
ОтветитьBrotherhood of the Wolf is a fun movie. It seems to have been influenced by The Hound of the Baskervilles among many other influences.
ОтветитьI reviewed Snatchers. It’s cool for what it is, but I didn’t love it.
ОтветитьFor some ungodly reason, The Boy is my daughter's favorite horror movie. We watched it when she was 12.
ОтветитьChat GTP. 😂
ОтветитьDaywalkers with Ethan Hawke [ think It was his first Major Role in A Horror Movie [ good plot and movie check that one out ] and I Frankenstein both horror action lost gems made in early 21st century.. must see [ I Frankenstein didnt last long in the theaters but I love it and you can watch it over and over again [ Frankenstein vs Demons plot good plot twist and very compelling.. both Brotherhood of The Wolf and I Frankenstein Daywalkers all good foreign horror action movies and Daywalkers has William Dafoe in it [ which is suprising] must see even for any occasional non die hard horror fans...
ОтветитьDaniel, I have never heard of SNATCHERS. I am surprised to see it was released in 2019. It's sad to think there are some super indy films worth watching that have no fanfare around them.
ОтветитьSaw Phantoms recently and was pleasantly surprised. Definitely worth a watch.
ОтветитьI love Brotherhood of the Wolf. I agree it is a bit lengthy. However, a year passes by in the story so they have to convery in that length of time they are struggling to find the monster. I feel the martial arts, the costume design, the action, the ancient weaponry, the pretty ladies and the sympathetic heroes do make up for it. Also, it has Monica Belucci in it. I think it's a horror classic. It was big in Canada I heard.
