I’m 69 years old and retired. I’ve been working seriously at music since 2019. I think I’m finally hitting my stride as a songwriter, and I would definitely take a buyout as you describe. I have no placements yet, but I’m hoping it will happen soon.

Is the buyout you are talking about an exclusive license or non exclusive? If it’s non exclusive, then that’s a no brainer for sure. Definitely take it.

If I'm understanding you correctly then I'm going to say that you were talking about a buyout of the publisher share. Since you said you would always keep your writer's share this is very smart. Income now, and income later.
