my internet and router support 5G 1Gigabit but my computer motherboard only has a 2.5GbE port but supports wifi 6e so i’m unsure what to do here and if i use the 2.5 ethernet will i still be obtaining my internets full effect?

you are quite negative about wifi in general, in terms of speed... Sure there are a lot of variables, that influence speed. But if you have a good connection to your wifi point, and your router uplink is 1Gbps, you will easily have 700Mbit or higher on good wifi units in your mobile devices (e.g. dedicated wifi cards or high quality dongles that have wifi6(e)), to state you will get 100Mbit at max, is for sure untrue

i honestly don't have issue with 5ghz interferance anwyays. but also the short range of higher frequency bands means there's less interference by nature.
but the wifi 6e router tests I've seen so far only have a 10% improvement in speed over wifi 6 but yet a much shorter range.
also I get 800mbps on wifi 6

these are only exciting for stuff like the quest 2 wireless VR. we could have higher bitrates and lower latency.
sadly the internet is not even 100mbps in a lot of places yet :( specially in canada it's a joke sometimes

Both have there place WIFI 6E is great if WIFI is all you have to use, Wired is better if you have the choice of using it. Each has it own strong points and weak points everyone has to make their minds up which way they are going to network their devices.

Hang on a minute I have a new X570 Aorus Master with 2.5 GbE on board. also have a dual port 10GBe PCIe card going into an Asus DSL AC3100 modem/router and Asus 10Gbe Switch and a new QNAP 2.5 Gbe switch all connected with the newest CAT8 cabling. Are you suggesting my modem/router is the bottleneck and needs to be upgraded? What do I need to upgrade to?

If you live in the UK, OFCOM (the regulator) has: "The UK telecoms regulator, Ofcom, has today made it possible for future home WiFi networks to harness 500MHz of radio spectrum frequency in the new 6GHz band, which will significantly boost the speed of licence-exempt indoor home wireless networks (i.e. via the Wi-Fi 6/6E – 802.11ax standard)." - sweet for me :)

On the 2.5Gbs question, I have just wired Cat 6, however as I know my next phone will be Wifi6e (as the S21 from Samsung, and thus all next gen phones from almost everyone inc Apple, and prob most tablets) having an upgrade to Wifi 6/6e with a new router will also give me an upgrade to Gigabit on my LAN cables. I also get 1 2.5Gbs port so when my network provider gives me a faster than 1Gb connection I can take advantage of it. (I have no NAS's). Sadly I am hoping the Archer (AX6000) with 8 ports gets an update to wifi 6e in the next few months, as that will allow me to only use a Modem and the Router with no need for extra switches and no need to upgrade the Router if my modem gets updated to 2.5Gbs. Sure some of my computers will get an upgrade to Wifi6e but this will occur naturally, I already have WiFi6 enabled devices. I am not so sure about the upgrade of my computers to 6e as I suspect the antennas need an update to support the higher frequency.

Thanks for the Video, very nice.

Question:
- on my WiFi router, if i connect the Asus Rapture GT-AXE11000, does the speed affected if i only use Cat5 or Cat6 Cable (rj45)?
Does cable matters?

Not entirely correct.
5e and 6 is up to 1 gigabit (5e and 6 differs in frequency / latency)
6a is up to 10 gigabits.

There are more benefits of using Wired Ethernet cables.
Wake On Lan for example works perfectly on a wired connection.
the ping speed on a wired LAN is also incredible.
You can also use an ethernet cable for different purposes.
Such as an extender for USB or HDMI cables.

You can do 5Gbit over Cat5e. I would also choose Cat6A over Cat7. If I were to even consider Cat7 I would just go straight to Cat8. Cat7 is a piece of shit cable that has no place anywhere.

"It's a no brainer, go wired" - absolutely. I always say to people Wi-Fi is a complimentary technology to wired Ethernet, not a replacement despite what the computer manufactures try to tell you with their Wi-Fi only laptops. If you've got a wired LAN option available you should always use that first, especially when sitting at your desk in a office environment, Wi-Fi for when your portable or it's not a option. Real world Wi-Fi you rarely, if ever, hit the advertised speeds.

2.4 Ghz wifi band width is only 70Mhz and that frequency transmits farther. That is why there is interference.
The new 6Ghz band is 1200Mhz and the signal doesn't travel as far. So there will be less apparent interference.

Is a 2.4 ghz wired Ethernet desktop faster than the same desktop with 5 ghz wifi. I need to buy cellular modem and wonder if I should buy the MOFI4500 which is 2.4GHz and wire my devices or try the new Netgear LBR20 which is dual and go wireless to my 5 ghz devices.

I'm a certified amateur radio operator, I wouldn't wanna have any unnecessary microwave transceiver anywhere nearby, it's against health safety, which gadged users usually don't realize. Ethernet is very low maintenance (install and forget), no hustle (it just works, surprises are extremely rare), and power efficient (no radio transceivers, just switch or router), so Ethernet FTW. Also, imagine this: WiFi antennas aren't directional, they emit in a sami-spherical (kinda circular) pattern. It's a lot of energy wasted. In Ethernet, the electrical energy goes straight through the cable and theres not much needed of it - Ethernet works just by changes in voltage, it almost doesn't draw any current. WiFi is like a plane dropping flyers over the city to reach one person. Ethernet is like talking in person.

Ethernet will always be faster. If the WAN is not 2.5gig, the wifi 6e will not go any faster because the modem can only bring in 1 gig traffic. Now, if the WAN is 2.5gig, then yeah, so will the ethernet ports...which makes wired still faster (unless you stuck on old wiring category).

Oh my gosh, the tribble sitting by you - I started laughing uncontrollably when an idea came to mind - of course me telling you is going to spoil it from happening but since I don't know your family members I guess I couldn't suggest it to them anyway! I imagined someone putting a remote controlled thingie under your tribble and making it move slightly every now and then, and perhaps even making a little noise once in a while to get your attention, and when you finally looked over and realized it moved, you screamed and jumped up almost falling out of your chair! Or better yet, once you see it and say what the heck?! it JUMPS up in the air towards you, and THEN you fall out of your chair. That would be really funny! But now you know, so it's too late for wifie or whoever you have over there to play that trick on you, but the thought gave me a laugh!

Dont forget that cat 7 is not a standard. Cat 6a can do 10gb, so can cat6 over shorter distances... 2.5gb is really for cat5e..... also no such thing as cat6e too... wiring is always better. Alot of factual mistakes
