Thank you! But when I did all this, my Windows cannot see the SD card that has games downloaded from SteamOS(Bazzite), how can i fix that?

I'm still not sure if i should do this or not. The videos of games running smoother because of the pre shader rendering and the sleep function are close enough to win me over. But i also use Game Pass so switching back and forth does seem like a chore. And game sharing just seems like a waste of installing Bazzite in the first place. I'm currently using Playnite and it works pretty good especially with all my emulator stuff. I had to manually add MAME(2003,2010 and midway) to it so i'd be scared that i wont have access to that in Bazzite..

Oh well, another great tutorial however. If i do end up getting a new SSD i'll follow his guide and give it a shot.

I am pretty sure is there a way to use as game directory part of your ssd , I mean we can split C for windows (150gb) D for Bazzite also (150gb) and E for only game directory big part more thn 3 Gb so windows and steam os can use same folder & directory without a issues. I seen a video about that and it is best way to use dual boot.

There is no reason to ever boot a game & not run lossless scaling. As long as it’s not pvp, I suppose. But I can’t imagine why you would ever install Linux & ever boot a game & not have lossless scaling running b/c lossless doesn’t work on Linux. Just run lossless 100% of the time. & don’t bother with Linux until Linux can run it. & if it can’t ever run it, then into the dust bin it goes.

couldn't you at this point simply partition the ssd into 3 different drive.
let's say 100Gb for windows an other 100Gb for bazzite and the rest as a second drive that you simply store all game on this one that can be share thecnically this would be the best way to do

Thank you for this amazing and easy to understand tutorial. I am currently in the process of doing exactly this right now. Also I think there is a way to make a folder that windows and steam can share the downloads. Cheers🎉 and thank you 🙏

off-topic, but is there a general setting on Ryujinx on the ROG Ally to make the games run smooth, cos even on default settings to the emulator itself, cos mario wonder doesn't run well at all, and even switching to performance or turbo mode doesn't do Anything.

Interesting! Didn't know, that there is no need to setup partitions manually in bazzite installation, as long as there is "unused partition" created in Windows? Was a bit hesitant about this, so went with the manual partitioning (cyber dopamines dual boot video tutorial).

super helpful tutorial! i was running into some issues with the partition process due to immovable files (even after factory resetting the drive...) but simply using a third party partition manager solved it and from there it went just as smooth as you showed. thank you so much!

Why you can share sd card with your os? I thought you need to switch it's format of reading/writing format for sd card? Which can brake symlink functionality in wine in steam os, which probably applies to bazzalt too

This may never be seen by anyone else, but I just wanted to make sure people aren't making mistakes that end in Bazzite boot eventually failing, or causing issues in the long run.

To start, many tutorials on dual-booting Bazzite and Windows miss some key steps that are vital to long-term stability. Some also advocate using shared storage for games, which - if you happen to do a deep enough search outside of YT - has resulted in some games not running correctly after switching between Windows and Bazzite, and necessitating frustrating reinstalls. To prevent this going forward, you have to have a separate UEFI partition for Windows and Bazzite, and I would advocate you NOT share a partition between the two; just install the games you want to play on each OS partition, separately. This may require reinstalling Bazzite, if you've run into issues already, unfortunately.

Before the Bazzite reinstallation process, you should turn off Bitlocker in Windows and let it decrypt. You should then turn off Secure Boot.

Next - you probably see most tutorials walking you through installing Bazzite by doing an automatic partition/installation during the actual install screen. As of what I can tell right now, this ends up sharing an EFI partition with Windows. This can 'break' anytime windows does an update, whether or not you have secure boot on.

If you partition for Bazzite manually during the actuall install screen, it allows you to set up a separate partition for the Bazzite EFI. Please see "SteamOS dual boot tutorial for ROG Ally/Legion Go" from YT channel Cyber Dopamine for step by step instructions.

At the end, that creator makes just one mistake by skipping past the step to allow secure boot signing on Bazzite (MOK) - for help on this, see "Dual-booting Windows 11 & Bazzite with secure boot enabled" by Mike's Tech Tips (new password is 'universalblue', not 'ublue-os', by the way). End with enabling encryption on Bazzite desktop mode through the KDE Wallet System (choose 'classic blowfish encrypted file').

Then, after absolutely everything is done , you can go back and turn on secure boot in the BIOS, which will enable it for both OSs.

Hope that helps.
