I haven’t watched for quite awhile so I guess I forgot what you had planned on this property. This demo project will be your house slab, then building the house on that? I can definitely see having the business and house on the same property will be money well spent! Any time you do any kind of demo job, you end up with problems somewhere or the other that can be either a big expense or not so bad, that is just reality. Good job guys! You have really done well for yourselves!

As a former contractor and cement finisher capping a floor isn’t the best way to do that.
If you’re already cut the concrete out bring in gravel level compact reinforced with wire and re-pour slab.

I love watching your journey. I remember when you bought the property and talked about building your home there. I'm excited to see your progress and am super excited to see it when it's finished. Merry Christmas!

I hope this build goes as smoothly as possible, and that this is the one and only major thing that needs doing. Looking forward to the journey!

Yeah but to her gutter math is as simple as 2+2=4 and she is wondering why everyone thinks that is complicated.

Merry Christmas !!!!
Oh wow, I can imagine how stressful and frustrating it is to have to fix something that should have been done right the first time. I can’t believe they were allowed to build that church on a slab that was not done properly. It’s smart for you guys to fix it so you have a property that’s done correctly and you never have to worry about. It does stink that you have to have that money come out all at once out-of-pocket but like you said you really don’t have a choice if you want your home to be built correctly.
Thank you so much for taking us along and showing us where you’re at I find the whole thing absolutely fascinating and I’m kind of living vicariously through you because it’s something we always wanted to do is build our own place, so it’s exciting to watch your new home being created!❤

How on earth was that foundation slab passed at the building inspection? I had a lot to do with building in my last job, mainly inspection and signing off on the septic tank and underfloor plumbing and electrical lines. The slab wasn't poured until the health (me) and building inspectors passed the moisture barrier, termite barrier and that reo was in place - and then only they could it be poured. Do you not have those regulations there? (I'm in South Australia). Better to do now though than in five years time. Hope all goes well 🙂🦘🦘🦘

They make a pressure washer attachment for cleaning gutters from the ground so you could do them yourself

It’s a shame to tear down what you have built. It would’ve save a lot of headaches & money if you hired a project manager for future build. The previous owner probably didn’t plan on building it for habitat use but use it for barn or storage space. Put your drainage pipes in & pour a level floor. I just don’t understand why people build house or structure same elevation as the surrounding area. Your suppose to elevate your finished floor about 2 feet higher than your surrounding area. Any way your video is
a good teaching video for for what not to do. Thanks & good luck

$20k doesn’t sound too bad to me for all that work but I live in Denver and it’s very expensive here. I paid $7530 two years ago to have a 782 sq ft condo painted; including all walls, doors and kitchen and bathroom cabinets and drawers. I was very surprised by that figure but got other quotes as well. I couldn’t imagine what a family size home would cost to paint!! Prices are so out of control. Bananas are still super cheap though. 😆

You can build a gutter cleaning tool that attaches to a leaf blower to reach up in the gutters to blow the gutters clean. You can clean out the gutters from the ground and it takes a few minutes. Then you can take the tool off and store it for next time.
