It’s bad and not even in a good way, bad. Terrible movie. However… worst sequel of all time? <whispers> Highlander 2, 3, 4, 5….

Nope, Blues Brothers 2, but Caddyshack 2 is certainly in the running.

Dude this movie was hilarious🤦‍♂️ It’s that whole bill murray stuff that isn’t funny to me. It really is is that there’s more lames than hard men so bill Murray’s loved by more but those aren’t the quality votes. Sorry bout it.

Calling this a Cannon films knockoff is so totally spot on. I thankfully have never seen it but if both Rodney & Sam had been in it I definitely would have checked it out.

It's in my top 3 favorite movies. The Departed and Star Trek The Movie are my other 2

This movie stinks. Can we agree anything that starts with 'the worst sequel ever made' includes the name Dan Aykroyd? CS II. Ghostbusters II. Blues Brothers 2whatever. Just stop for the greater good.

When Rodney backed out of the sequel, it should've been a obvious sign to Peters that this movie wasn't going to be good.


They would've done themselves more a favor if they had rewritten the whole movie to fit Jackie Mason's character. Not saying it would've been a bit, but they definitely wouldn't have been criticized as being a shallow copy of the original.

This was one of the few VHS tapes we had as a kid. I watched it repeatedly as a 9 year old. It's terrible.

I'd like to offer a different perspective, just for fun.

When I was a kid in the 90's, I'd never seen Caddyshack. But we had Caddyshack II on VHS.

And we loved it! My brothers and I watched it all the time. Maybe it's the fact that we had never seen the original and had nothing to compare it to. But we thought it was hilarious from start to finish, and it was a regular part of the rotation through our family's Zenith VCR.

I think this movie is unfairly maligned due to its connection with (and comparison to) the original film. If it was released under any other name, I honestly think it would be considered a damn fun movie... hell, maybe even an "Almost Cult Classic." But maybe that's my nostalgia talking.

I think Robert Stack and Dyan Cannon were especially good in their roles. Jessica Lundy was endearing as Kate, and had a nice little character arc. Dina Merrill and Marsha Warfield also played their parts really well. The entire "construction crew" was well-cast and added a lot of fun to the film in their scenes.

And the movie has a fair amount of quotable quotes. To this day, nearly forty years later... my dad will bust out his falsetto tone while saying, "Keep your eeeeeye on the fruuuuuit..." or "Don't... have it." Then there's Randy Quaid handing his beer to someone so he can swing, and saying, "You can take a pull off that if you wanna!" My dad loves that one, too. And when I see someone napping, I can't help but think of Randy Quaid yelling "WAKE UP!!" at that rich old geezer asleep in the lounge.

Again, maybe it's just the personal nostalgia. Maybe it's the fact that I'd never seen the original Caddyshack. But I will argue all day long that while yes, this movie may be a terrible SEQUEL... standing on its own, it's a damn fun movie that's jam-packed with talent.

The only person to come back is the wet sack of shit that is Chevy Chase. No Rodney, no Caddyshack. No wonder it's a crap film. Amazing Rodney only got 35k for that performance, hope he got some % of the gross.

Jackie Mason was red hot at the time his stand-up shows were sold out so they thought that would translate to big box office.

I’ll be honest, Caddyshack 1 is awful, 2 is way better

I never hated this film, as much only given it a 2 out of 10, with reasons with kenny loggin's soundtrack nobody's fool great, the rex kramer guy awesome randy quaid and the lawyer, entertaining, and chevy, well nothing much to say about him, but those were great things in the movie but everything else stink.

And yet my friend and I used to watch this movie all the time.

I simply cannot find Dan Ackroyd funny.

Caddyshack II was one of those movies Comedy Central would play on a rainy or cold Saturday afternoon. It had potential as a movie plot but played with the wrong actors

A character that cant golf (which wow thats unreal) in a golfing movie has to be one of the biggest signs for them to quit. It'd be like me making a movie about extreme biking and a main cast character being unable to even stay balanced on a bike like it's ironic and terrible.

Randy Quaid was funny as hell in this

Ive always known it was never as good as the original but thanks to randy quaid i always enjoyed watching this movie and jackie masons jokes arent the best but i appreciate his energy in the delivery so i can always watch this as a double feature but again i know i know its not the original lol

Jackie Mason has such a Jewish accent and mannerism he is barely intelligible.

I actually thought this was a delightful little movie. Is it great? No. Is it okay? Sure. And I thought Jackie Mason did a fine job.
The video starts by talking about how the sequel was so different from the first Caddyshack, but then spends most of the video talking about how the sequel has basically all the same elements, but it just doesn't do them as well as the original film.

Akroyd a good straight man not him or chase funny at all.
