Chucks chin, and ability to recover fast was great in the early years of his career. I really wish he would have retired sooner though it's sad listening to him talk now. He has severe CTE and its heartbreaking because I loved watching him fight. His light heavyweight run was the most exciting like a mma Mike Tyson.

Mezger did way better than I thought he would great fight 💯

Mezger was a well-rounded MMA fighter; above average in striking, submissions, wrestling and had heart. On any given day, he was more than capable of beating anyone around his size/weight class. His weakness was he lacked that killer instinct and although very solid in many aspects of the sport, he still fit the of "jack-of-all trades and master of none" example.

Is metzger wearing shoes? How is that allowed? He can kick the other guy in the head while wearing shoes?

Two things from this video; first, why were they allowed to wear shoes if you can kick to the head? Second, these guys would never last in today's UFC. They were gassed after a minute and a half, barely able to stand up and walk across the ring.

Metzger would have destroyed Chuck and Wanderlei if he had been in better shape. Which is shocking considering lions den was one of the most cardio focused fight groups in the 90s.
