If the Chicago Cubs wins the 2025 World Series, then it appears like this trade is a tie.

If the astros not signing framber to a extension they need to trade him

People forget how flat these big stars looked against the Tigers last postseason. Something needed to change

The Astros got draft compensation for losing Correa and Springer and will get compensation for Bregman as well. So we did get SOMETHING

I always wanted Houston to trade the playoff choker of Tucker. When the trade happened i was so happy and then hearing the players the Cubs gave up for Tucker was the icing on the cake for me.😊

Im sorry but the only thing that got better has been the pitching the hitting has still been terrible. If it wasn't for Isaac paradis this team would be a floater

Pena's new bowflex has done wonders. Great trade of Tucker. Keep throwing money at 1st.. no idea why framber hasn't been offered

How can you trade big names when you are always in contention for a world series? I think last year was an easy decision after getting stomped out of the wild card.

Now I like the fact that Astros went 7 straight alcs and have 4 World Series appearances I think however this season plays out as long altuve crane is the owner and on the roster I’ll never doubt this team cam is going to be great Paredes will get better hopefully pena improves yordan needs to come back strong get us a lefty bat at the trade deadline I wonder if Abreu is still on the table from the Red Sox since Anthony has been called up

I wouldn’t say Astros outright won the trade both teams getting what they paid for but if Tucker doesn’t resign then Houston definitely wins this trade

I would also trade Framber at the deadline too as I can't see this team winning another world series with this current team

I wanted them to do that for a long time. Heck I wanted them to do that with Framber, although I'd prefer resigning Framber before he reaches free agency. But they also need him. I can understand certain players they need at the time, so they couldn't trade everyone. But they could have traded Bregman before last season, what they'd get I don't know. Yuli should have been traded after he dominated in 2019. I'd have moved Springer. Correa I would have considered trading. Obviously the goal is to make good trades, but not all will work out. But yeah I would have wanted to see them do this more.

As a diehard Cubs fan who considers the Astros my favorite AL team, so far the trade has worked great for both teams. In the long run, I do believe that the Astros will win this trade. Parades was born to play in the juice box, and Smith will be an absolute monster in a year or two. Wesnewski will be a solid starter.

Cubs fan here. But im not your typical Cubs fan...I want the Dynasty not the flash in the pan world series. Cubs have a chance to do what the Astros should have as you just said. Hoerner, Suzuki, Taillon, Happ all have one more year left and sone of their potential replacements are close to the majors. We could rebuild our farm system with those trades and Steele may not be far behind.

I agree! With your logic, should the Astros trade Framer at the deadline for the team’s long-term benefit? We still have Lance & whomever we can trade for?

I think Paredes is a much more consistent & clutch player than Bergman at MUCH lower price. I love the trade & our team! They are surging. Go ‘Stros!

Keuchel should have traded after 2017. Bad 2018 and then he signed so late the Astros didn’t even get a compensatory pick for him.

Springer’s last year was the Covid fake season.

Correa was the dog the team needed in 2021. They don’t lose the WS without him.

Bregman was expendable last year as that roster was far below previous ones and unlikely to win it all.

Astros have had an incredible run and still are winning. You just can't trade everyone. Maybe if you picked a few players knowing what you had behind them. Stupid take.

It's easy to talk about this stuff in hindsight. There was no way we were going to afford Tucker. It was assumed that there was a possibility Springer, Correa, and Bregman might stay. Holding out hope that they would come back was the right move. Even if it was in some sort of weird morale way. They left on their decisions. So then the team and the fans don't look back and I think others players stepped up because of it. Arguably that doesn't happen if you're always trading your fan favorites away before their contract is up because you're convinced they're leaving. It's like hitting the panic button preemptively.

its still way too early to tell, omg you have to give it a whole season because they are still playing games the team should have gotten more players from alex bregman carlos carrera and george springer, they failed in replacing players even if they dont last , you just cant let good players go with out geting something in return!!!!
