These farmers are completely idiotic. Too short sighted to understand the IHT change is a good thing for them.

The reason farmland is so valuable now (and incurs such a large tax bill for high net worth farms) is the lack of IHT has made it attractive to millionaire investors, who want to make profits they wont be taxed on - this is exactly what the likes of clarkson and dyson have done. Farmland has become a finacial instrument and a tax avoidance scam for investors.

What this will do is stop investors buying up all the farmland. This means the value of farmland will reduce which in turn will eventually bring even the 500 farms that are currently affected by this change, under the threshold for IHT so that farns will soon be free of IHT again.

This is going to purge the disease that is millionaire investors exploiting and profiting from our agricultural land. The farmers need to shut the hell up and realise what a positive change this is

CORRUPTION… LAND GRAB
I have witnessed this in Venezuela and now witnessing it in the UK,.
Outrages Corrupt government Land Grab.
In isle Margareta, Venezuela, the bank reduced the interest rate to a ridiculously low rate, development and construction went crazy.
Overnight the bank increased the interest rate to an eye watering amount.
Most if not all investment and construction companies went bankrupt unable to make payments on the borrowed money losing all properties, land and monies that they had invested.
The banks in liege with government repossessed the land and properties and now owned vast assets.
Here in the UK I am witnessing the same scam.
This government, by introducing this outrages Inheritance tax will force the sale of farms on an epic scale, this government, Starmer, in liege with the company Blackthorn will own vast quantities of UK farm land… Total corruption. It is a scam on government proportions.
This government, Starmer, is an obvious, diabolical, corrupt Land Grab.

Farmers aren’t just hardworking.. it’s a farming lifestyle it’s not a 9-5 job it never stops. It’s not meat and crops alone it’s keeping the animals healthy regular vet visits to their farm, checking for health issues, mucking out.. it must never stop. I’m not a farmer never grew up on a farm biting to do with farming but I’m just imagining all this.. where is the respect and vision of farming from the government.

I live in a rural community that has several farm shops. I sat outside one of them at a busy junction as part of the A1 with a sign saying "Honk if you support British farmers" the noise was deafening as every vehicle that went passed tooted their hooter. And this included buses minicabs, fire engines, ambulances. Even a police car had a little toot.

They want to strip the people from having control over mass food production so they can control us even more it’s pretty easy to see. One day when they own the whole of the countries food production they can then one day tell us there’s not enough food it’s already happening now

What a crap attitude saying it’s not like a parent who dies and leaves a house to a son or daughter who doesn’t need it!
I live in a farming community and none of the farmers here are skint, yes the farm is a business, but if a single mother can’t pay her bills, she has to downsize, why should it be any different for farmers. Just because you produce some food…….we import the majority. I’m not saying that’s good because it’s not. Lots of farmers have other income streams from the property they own…..not all legit, either. This guy is talking like nobody else works hard or wants to provide for their kids. Difference is, most regular people aren’t sitting on a £3m plus asset, and they’ve worked as hard, but don’t receive things like subsidies, they get sod all because they are just working.

There's one good result of the selling of farms to money men in that they will then protect the land under a nice, thick layer of concrete and houses. That will result in the destruction of bio-diversity which is obviously a nasty Tory scam. Of course Starmer knows what he's doing as he once worked on a farm during a gap year and therefore fully understands how to run a farm.
The real danger is that by the time the Labour ideologues realise the damage they've done to farming, it will be too late, always dismissing any counter arguments as right-wing propaganda.

Labour is doing this to take said farms away from families and pass them along to their friends at BlackRock. Don't believe me? Just watch what happens, some Labour people are saying "well corporations pay inheritance tax." Sorry, numb nuts, a corporation DOESN'T PAY inheritance tax. Directors/shareholders etc. may change when one dies but the corporation carries on. Individuals pay inheritance tax.
This is a transfer according to WEF agendas to remove property and vital food production away from average people. Remember, WEF are the "you'll own nothing and be happy" guys. Be happy part is pure propaganda, but taking your property away, they are dead serious. Farm land = gone from families. Pensions and other such assets = gone from families (notice the tax changes on pensions? Who loses and who gains?). Heavy increased taxation of private ICE vehicles, why? WEF answers again, their stated goal is NO PRIVATE VEHICLES.
WAKE UP people! This is a communist/Marxist gov't intent on taking everything away from us. They won't come out (yet) and say you can't own a house or car etc. But according to WEF policies you implement their agenda incrementally, step by step, first step is let them think they can own things, but tax it from them through the backdoor. Do you see that now happening???????
If this Labour gov't had been honest and forthright with everyone during the recent campaign, do you think they would have won? We all know the answer, thus they are illegitimate as they either lied to us on virtually everything during the campaign, or even worse hid what they really wanted to do on certain issues. 5 years of this? Really? What will be left of Britain in 5 years time? Not much, but that's their plan. We need another election and soon, how I don't know, but we need it. Reform is looking better by the day or even the Tories (never thought I'd say that) would be a better option. Somehow a non-confidence vote is needed to defeat this disastrous gov't.

Things not mentioned are that farmers have not sought to see land prices increase, out of all relation to profitability. Return on capital is circa 0.5% . Farmers have no control over the prices paid for their production. They are price takers. Farming is also at the mercy of the seasons.

£500 million a year wow that's only 10 weeks of no migrant hotels. Or 3.7% of the foreign aid budget that was used this year. What about those pay rises or even the money we gave Ukraine to kill Russians and innocent civilians. Yet want the arrest of the Israel PM for protecting his country against terrorism. What shambles of a country we have become. Tories were bad, but labour is just plain useless.

I totally understand why the farmers would strike but I don’t for a moment believe it would do any good. The only people to suffer from farmers strikes would be the farmers themselves and the people who buy their produce. The wealthy, privileged and powerful won’t suffer. We need to get this government out and elect one that actually cares about the country and citizens- especially those who are not so wealthy privileged and powerful

All farmers should watch all silver fox hot takes. And especially the latest one. The most evil man in Britain. Labour are at this moment working on getting their hands on all the farm land in England. They will probley use the ploy renationalised the land for the people. And of course sell it off to black rock. The only way to finish off labour is to drive them out of our towns and cities and not allow them to have any events in any thing we own. The inheritance tax was labours first dagger strike into ending farming. So every one check out. Silver fox hot takes and he will tell you in detail what labour are doing
