Intrigued by the comment XC spikes are just a gimmick and that you use track spikes with Nike pyramid XC spikes. I thought track spikes have a smooth back section so makes it even worse for grip?

Why isn't this a thing in the US? We have road relays, but I have never seen a cross country relay in the US. Yet it is at the world athletics cross country championships. It sounds like it would be fun.
