Absolute Masterpiece Soundtrack+Story+Cast

Close to 40 years old film buff for over 10 years and I have never once heard of this film. I'm going to watch tomorrow. What other amazing films am I missing out on?

Just this tiny piece of The Maestro Morricone's amazing score is better than ANYTHING in ANY film nowadays. It's like the so-called composers aren't even TRYING to create decent music for motion pictures anymore (*and before someone gets all smart - Hans Zimmer does NOT count. His best days are behind him!).

この映画が作られたのが1986、確か、1976に世界の驚異というドキュメンタリーで豪州の原住民のドキュメンタリーがあったが、、彼らはその後、どうなったんだろう？
この作品に出てくる土人の容貌はとても目鼻立ちがはっきりして、どうも、、混血なんだろうか。
イエズス会の宣教師のミッションの実態も一コマを取り上げてる映画だけど、私には一番、衝撃的で忘れられない作品です。

イエズス会の宣教会が日本でのつながりで、どうも、東南アジアで成りすまし宣教師も来日したのか、ローマ法王を4少年使節団は暗殺してしまう。。日本のキリシタン大名と名乗ってるものでも、成りすましがいたということが分かる。
そこでやっと、後継として、サレジオ会ができたのではないだろうか。
面白いのはいい、、というか、カトリックの思慮深さで理解が届かないのですが、、苦笑、、聖フランシスコを崇めたというのですが、、どうも、、実態を調べた時、彼はお金持ちの商人の息子で、十字ん軍だったか騎士たちに憧れて出家した印象で、今のミーハーとさほど変わらない人生でもあったようにも印象を持ったのですが、、他州はならヒーローを奉るのに、、。。。でも、、彼をヒーローにしてしまうところが、カトリック的とも言えるし、カトリックにも色々な力が入り込んできている、とも思える。。苦笑。。

And now I accidentally found it in here when I was bored after viewing countless other movie trailers to keep me busy during my free time. This movie brings back a great childhood memories in me. It’s so cliché to say - I know. But this really is an underrated movie. Not many even know that it exists. It’s not De Niro’s best film or performance… but definitely deserves more attention. He is quite good in this. Thankfully my 8th grade Social Studies teacher showed this - otherwise I too probably would never have seen it. Tremendous musical score as well!
