Is there a video where u discuss the channel name change?
ОтветитьWHY???? Why did he choose to make it public???
Also, when you read a scripture from the KJV you assumed the one who shared the scripture is a “KJV Only” person and laughed about it. It seems you are mocking her use of quoting from KJV. I disrespect you for responding in this manner.
Their being philistines.
ОтветитьI find it interesting that the issue of the body being a temple being brought up......they are ready to criticize over tattoos but what about taking care of our bodies in ways like weight and exercise.......or how about anything that is in excess in our lives???
ОтветитьWow! I just want to say thank you for making these kinds of videos. Not because of the topic at hand, but because the depth at which you explain is SOOOooo helpful and encouraging. Thank you so much. You're a great teacher!
ОтветитьYYYAAAASSSSS! Romans 14 baby! Praise God for giving you this wisdom and the ability to share it.
ОтветитьSounds like that popular pastor shouldnt have blasted his tattoo on social media. Lets hear the arguments now
ОтветитьIf that's all they got to worry about, then life is easy for them. I no longer listen to him, but it wasn't for this type of goofy stuff. It's not what goes into the body, it's what comes out that corrupts, like what comes out of your mouth. I do not quite agree with your views, but I'm not your judge nor question your salvation.
ОтветитьWhen and why people do things are more important than the actual words. Max is awesome.
ОтветитьI really like your videos, you are fresh air in the Christian (often stale)world. I appreciate your passion and commitment. I don't think it was wise to 'boast' with this tattoo. ML is a role-model for some although personally he is not my favourite. He is a well-known Christian and must be more careful with his deeds than everyday people. A different level of responsibility. This hot debate clearly shows that this is a hot topic and can hurt the sensitivity of many.
Ответитьpeople have too much time on their hands to spend so much time and energy on this. Mind their own business and their walk with Jesus. We all have logs in our eyes. We are all sinners. We all need to mind our own business and work on our own walks with Christ.
ОтветитьCan women be mysocinist?
ОтветитьI have a question, it’s about exodus and idk who can help me.. why is it mentioned twice about the building of the tabernacle? I’m new to reading the word and so that part confused me a bit but my understanding is that since it’s a portable place of worship they had to rebuild after they went out and camped outside a tent after Moses came down from Mt. Sinai and broke the first 2 tablets, please explain
ОтветитьI have a Christian friend who really likes getting tarot card readings done by a non Christian friend of ours and I try really hard to not be judgmental about it, and I just don’t participate in it. I know she loves Jesus and is just doing it for fun, and it’s not something I feel is right as a Christian, but it’s also not a foundational thing and won’t help anything if I am chastising her for doing that on occasion
ОтветитьIt's cool that the word also as thee T's. Almost represents the three crosses. Another thought about getting the tattoo 🤔 is why a tattoo after NEVER having one? Why not a tee shirt or a permanent car painting or something of the like. What was the thought behind actually inking it into his skin. And did Jesus want him to thank Him in that manner? Jesus was all about praising God, not Himself. He Himself worked through God's authority, not His own.
ОтветитьWow tattoos been symbols for years even biblical days hmm My Temple is Not your temple So to all stressed relax your not the Judgement squad Thank God right 😁✌🏻🙏🏻🫶🏻🙌🏻
ОтветитьWhat do you mean by a "kjv onlyist "?" And yes, I know that kjv means King James version.
ОтветитьJesus Came Reminder 🔥🔥🔥
ОтветитьCher got her first tattoo in 1972. It took Max Lucado 53 years to become as cool as Cher.
ОтветитьThere's a difference between an argument and a debate, though they are similar. With a debate, you genuinely listen to and try to understand the other person's reasoning, and engage their thought process, then share your own perspective. While it could become heated, it doesn't have to, and it should be done with respect and without insults. That's the ideal. An argument involves telling the other person why they're wrong, and usually doesn't involve giving fair consideration to the other person's point of view. It usually comes with judgment or insults, like name calling.
I do agree with "Study more, debate less" because we need to make sure we have a proper grasp on what we are discussing. I like the point you make about "context" in scripture. Too often, people pull things out of context from scripture to back their own view. It's an easy mistake to make. It takes time to learn how to comprehend the context of a portion of scripture.
1 Corinthians 6:19 -- "Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?" The context of that verse had to do with sexual immorality. Verse 18 before it says: "Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body." Getting a tattoo is not on the same level as sexual immorality, and I would argue falls under the category of "outside the body" though it's debatable whether it is a sin (I think it's debatable anyway).
The same with the quote from Leviticus, not to get a tattoo. It had to do with rituals to the dead. "You shall not shave around the sides of your head, nor shall you disfigure the edges of your beard. You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am the Lord." I'm sure many of those condemning tattoos are also very careful about how they cut their hair or beards as well. Pardon my sarcasm.
Let me pull out a verse to give something to think about: "In like manner also, that the women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with propriety, and moderation, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or costly clothing."--1 Timothy 2:9. So, if a woman shows up at church with her hair braided, are we going to condemn her? Are we going to confront her with this verse and tell her she's in error? What if she is dressed very nicely? Funny thing is, there was a time when you were expected to be dressed a certain way when you showed up to church, often called your "Sunday Best." If what you had on wasn't up to expectations, it was something to be embarassed about. Probably why some people just didn't go, and definitely why some left.
I choose to not have tattoos. I won't condemn others who have them. I'm not necessarily encouraging anyone to get them, because that's a decision that each individual needs to make on his own. As you stated, this is not a cardinal doctrine like the virgin birth, the literal physical death on the cross, the bodily resurrection, etc. I ended up meeting a wonderful lady, who just happens to have a couple tattoos. I had prayed about finding a mate, and this is the person God brought into my life. She has been and continues to be a blessing in my life. I almost passed her up, but apparently God had a different plan.
We need to "pick our battles" carefully. If it isn't cardinal doctrine, it isn't worth fighting over, and condemning one another over.
So true, love this!
ОтветитьI think the concept of marking your skin to show God you love him or doing it for him is very anthropomorphic.
And I think it downplays what God wants to see in us, and the manner in which he affirms us.
This is my first time finding your videos. Thanks for doing this. It's really well thought out and presented. I feel that passage in 1 Cor 5 and 6 is really focused about sexual immorality. I love that you are so gracious. Thank you.
ОтветитьListen Jesus is concern about the posture and position of our hearts, this body although the temple will be renewed.. tattoos don’t make anyone less loved and accepted by God whether they are in the faith or not. These judgmental ignorant folks are taking the Bible out of context and abusing it to condemn others, they are too religious. Yahweh and Yeshua are solely about relationship. Make sure your relationship is in right standing.
Ответить❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьThe fact you knew to run to the internet, shows that such an act would offend many christians. God calls authority figures to be above reproach and have upstanding character, the embodiment of not excercising a free will that would culturally offend a brother or sister. This standard is different all over the world, but for western culture, he stirred the pot without a care. Not fitting of his position.
ОтветитьMax Lucado also calls Glen Beck a "brother in Christ." Glen Beck is a staunch Mormon. He is not a brother. Max Lucado is lukewarm these days.
ОтветитьChristian prosecuted in many countries right now. Church’s buildings take by government in Russia. But in America Christian busy discussing tattoos. Excuse me. Move yours butt from soft sofa go preach gospel. Jesus coming.
ОтветитьHistorical, cultural and linguistic contexts should always be sought out for understanding what is being said. These things are almost always ignored where bad doctrine is taught.
ОтветитьI don't like tattoos. One day, while praying about it, the Lord spoke very clearly and said to me, "Get over it."
ОтветитьWow I cannot thank God enough for finding your channel. Thank you so much for breaking this down so good.
ОтветитьThis tattoo is a celebration of his literal coming to Christ and is between him and God. It is up to God to decide if this is unacceptable as a tribute. Judge not lest ye be judged.
ОтветитьMy question, why couldn't he celebrate another way? He could have easily gotten a shirt, a bracelet, wrapped his vehicle, etc with this phrase, and he would still have the opportunity to tell others about the gospel/give testimony, because Jesus always makes a way for us.
For any person, believer or non-believer, my love for them won't change, but I would question the believer's decision for choosing to tattoo themselves. I don't think it's a wise choice; moreso if they are a teacher. I feel that tattoos are such a slippery slope, that it really can cause someone to stumble. Because if you look at BC (Before Christ) vs AC (After Christ), that makes a difference. Like several people in my church say, that was BC and the desire to tattoo themselves left when they accepted Christ.
In each of us, there are the marks of our old selves. For me, that's excess fat and weakness from laziness and gluttony. I also used to cut but no scars remain. But, ignoring the hypocrisy in the church (we each have our struggles/journey thru them), if you are made a new creation, and a temple of God, why would you choose to mark it?
Be ye Holy as I am holy comes to mind. This is not a salvation issue. God calls us to holiness so is that really a thing anymore per your assessment? Did you ever wear jewelry or a t-shirt with WWJD on it? Once we are saved the goal is to run the race to win. ! Corinthians 9 comes to mind Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: but I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
We are not trying to do works to get saved or stay saved however, Jesus himself explained in Matthew 5 that we are to be the light of the world and that by him coming, he did not negate the law but fulfilled it. He goes as far as to say
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
This is a deep subject and God ultimately wants us to all love him and each other. He desires us to win the race of the Christian life to win meaning there are rewards for doing so. I would rather be called great in the Kingdom of heaven than least. Basically after we are saved by grace because he told us it is not of works lest any man should boast, we have to strive to be perfect as he is perfect. I am also reminded of the verse come out from among them and be ye separate, 2 Cor. 6. So there is such a thing as holy living and not being conformed to this world. Will it make or break your salvation? In this case I have not found anywhere that says a tattoo will send you to hell yet God clearly revealed he does not want us to get them. So, if you want to please God in your personal walk you might pray about getting one before you run out and do it.
Let us be in unity not with each other with no convictions but instead as God taught me... be in unity with Jesus with each other as the body of Christ.
Love you sister and be encouraged.
I have my first tattoo. Ive never found tattoos bad, but as a Christian, you should be mindful on what you are tattooing.
ОтветитьGod gave each of us free will. Each of is are on our own journey to Him. Jesus said do not judge lest he be judged. No one on Earth but Jesus is perfect. This is all we need to know in regards to what others do. We need to focus on our own journeys and stop casting stones. This is merely an observation of what seems to be a reoccurring theme.
ОтветитьI appreciate so much how you approach situations like this! You set such a great example for others. ❤️
ОтветитьI will file this topic under a folder I named "adventures in missing the point." Point being, why do people have to post everything they do and then replying to thousands of comments from those who will remain Anonymous behind their computers. The mindset that permits us to post anything we do basically says" I will do what I want, when I want, how I want." Gee, I wonder what that's called 🤔 (hint : begins with a P an ends with an E)
Forgive any hints of sarcasm here, I'll just never understand why we live our lives online.
Yes, we are to honor God with our bodies. Tattoos can have bad messages, good messages, messages not understood by most who will see them (as Mr. Lucado's is), or have no meaning (there only as art). If you choose to wear "body art", let it honor God, without ambiguity.
ОтветитьGirl! The TRINITY DOCTRINE. STUDY MORE! Creeds are man made and cannot be trusted. Why are protestants still following catholic doctrine! Rise up man child ministry the end is here! Yahuah IS ONE!
ОтветитьI run everything like this through the lens of everything I know about Christ and while this doesn't say a thing about tattoos directly, it speaks volumes about Jesus' emphasis on love and grace. And even if the millions of people who have commented their opinions about Max Lucado's tattoo were right, their approach itself is sinful, arrogant, dogmatic, etc- not Christlike at all. This to me is the BIGGEST issue with the church and humanity in general. Why does everyone have to take it to the 100th level? Jesus knows each and every one of our hearts, you are not going to be judged y Him for not leaving a hate comment on something you think is sinful that you saw online. I literally NEVER comment negatively because there is absolutely no good reason to. There are FAR greater ways to go about spreading your opinion, and it's not with venom. Sadly, I'm sure some people will come for me over this comment and prove my point.
ОтветитьApparently JOYCE MEYER got a tattoo last year ' I belong to JESUS' !! ❤
Ответить👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
ОтветитьWhat does it say!? I recognize the three crosses? But what’s the rest. 😅
ОтветитьAll the issues in the world and ol Max got a tattoo 🙄 Makes me glad I’m not on social media and never read his books. I have zero trust in multi millionaire pastors… (and no it doesn’t mean you can’t have lots of $$$ and be a Christian).
ОтветитьLove to listen to your perspective on these things… I know you go STRAIGHT to the Bible! You speak complete GODLY truth and I love it!!! Love to hear you spit your knowledge 👏🏻
ОтветитьSeriously? You gave the "horns" hand sign and say "rock on?" Why do 98% of Christian influencers look and sound just like the rest of the world? I've just become so disillusioned recently after taking a true assessment of the so called "church." I'm tired of people being called a legalist when they point out error and sin. We are called to be separate from the world. When we look and sound like the culture, we are the culture. There is such a casual attitude towards the Gospel. Jesus calls us to be holy because He is holy.
ОтветитьFriends, I worry about some who may not watch this video to the end and comment prematurely. I address many responses there at the ending and give a warning. Please epitomize the grace and patient love of our Father in these comments.
