This is the one I needed to go back and watch!! Okay!! I'm on my way now! I just happen to have some packing tape! I hope that when my husband picks up some instant coffee for staining, people will think it's a necessity and not for a craft project. We'll never confess, will we?! Lol! Stay well!
ОтветитьI love the tutorial... thank you for sharing... where did you purchase your card stock?
ОтветитьThis is something I discovered in relation to the thicknesses of chipboard. If you absolutely don’t have anything else to use, head over to the DOLLAR TREE and pick up a few 3 ring binders, you can cut apart the front and back covers and then cut way the plastic cover. It is not glued to the chipboard andirons is a great thickness it makes wonderful journal covers. When my husbands office was moving to a paperless office, he gave me all of his binders, file folders and hanging folders, alligator clips as well. There were at least a hundred binders. Any time I find them at yard sales or estate sales I pick them up just for the chipboard.
ОтветитьThanks again for such great videos. Does anyone know if there is an alternative to tyvek or another brand of the same thing that may be easier to get in Australia? Tia
ОтветитьThank you for sharing 🌻
ОтветитьHello Pam, I'm writing this comment 30 seconds into the video. I had to pause it of course to say a very warm, heartfelt thank you for this tutorial. I'm an absolute beginner and every journal making video I have watched is charging around $100 for their online courses. And here you are providing the info for free. As I said I have not watched your video yet, but I felt the need to say a big thank you before I hit the play button. THANK YOU PAM.
ОтветитьI tried my skills with the four pocket fold. Fun !
ОтветитьYou are such a talented person.. everything you do shows your creativity. Love watching your channel.
ОтветитьHey Ms. Pam. I blame you for causing me to see small packaging, like band-aid boxes and medium sized gauze boxes, as mini journals 🤣😂🤣. Thank you for that. I am seeing current items as something different. I really didn't want to throw them away but I had to 'cause I don't have anywhere to put them in my rig where my partner wouldn't be tempted to throw them away anyway. Big hugs. ❤️😍😊👍 and thank you. The ideas I'm storing until I can get home again, are increasing.
ОтветитьExcellent. As a thought, if you cut the cardboars across at 9" first of all, you already have the correct height for your spine :)
ОтветитьPam - what kind of camera are you using to record? Asking because I think they are the perfect length and if it auto cuts off.... I need to get that camera to keep myself from being too chatty lol
ОтветитьSo helpful thanks so much Pam. You CAN teach an old dog new tricks 😁
ОтветитьHave you ever thought of using pizza boxes. These make good firm covers. I save the lids and the coragated peices that dont get stained for crafting. I also used the bottoms of the large paper grocery bags I do reinforce these with another layer of the bag as they are a little thin alone. Since you told us that rough to rough is a stronger hold, why don't you rough up the smooth surface with your sanding block to make a stronger hold ?
ОтветитьLove you Pam, ive learned such a lot. You are so clever 🥰
ОтветитьLovely tutorial, what other type of glue besides fabric fix would work? E6000?
ОтветитьGREAT!! would you leave the link for making one using fabric on the spine please, and would it work if you glued the fabric over the tape? love your energy and all you do.
ОтветитьI've used this twice now to make covers. Thank you so much! :)
ОтветитьI'm thinking that magazine covers glued together might work for a cover. They usually have such pretty pictures on the covers.
I also used two bottoms of a paper bag and covered them with torn peices to mall faux leather
EBay has that tyvac tape for
$ 13.00 a rool it's called sheating tape. It's 2' s 164 '
What pt of chipboard would work for these? This is going to be my first EVER journal. I found cardboard on Amazon and saw there is so much to choose from regarding cardboard. Thx!!!
ОтветитьOh cool I think this is the one I wanted to watch again to make from scratch oh yes this is the one awesome going to make one now after I watch this a few times
ОтветитьThank you for your tutorials. Can you advise where I can find the same ruler that you use? Ty

ОтветитьHello Pam! I've been watching your junk journal videos and you've inspired me to give it a try! I have quite a collection of ephemera to work with and love to do collaging. Would love to check out your etsy shop but I don't know the name of your shop. Thank you for all the great videos you put out!
Patti
Wow wonderful Sharing Congratulation stay safe!!
ОтветитьCould someone please explain the purpose of a junk journal
ОтветитьWow, that's 33 minutes of my life I'll never get back!
ОтветитьI'm sorry. It really is nice of you to make these videos. But please, for the love of Modpodge, stop the incessant tippy tapping fingers! Oh my goodness is that annoying! And I would really appreciate it if you wrote out a basic script beforehand, then that would cut out so many ums and ahs. Thank you.
ОтветитьPor favor, conheci o canal hoje. Moro no Brasil. Gostaria que vcs disponibilizassem legendas em Português. Quero maratonar .Gratidão
ОтветитьCould you reuse old curtains? I have some that are 100% polyester.
ОтветитьWow... !!! It's always great. Your video is excellent quality. We liked and enjoyed to the end. Thanks
ОтветитьWow, My best friend, Wonderful video dear. I enjoyed watching. Hope to see you soon...
ОтветитьHi Pam! I love ALL of your tutorials on making a book cover from beginning to end. But I must say, you are much braver than I am wearing white with longer sleeves. I would have everything on the shirt instead of the book/paper. But ask me again when it gets cold here in the Midwest LOL 😂!
ОтветитьU are a beautiful lady and thank you. I did what u said about doing dying paper.i did just like u with a bunch. My paper came out so cool. But I spent alot of time opening the 2 ovens.
ОтветитьThanks Pam. This video is exactly what I was looking for. I am going to start a mixed media at a local gallery and this will be a great addition to my skills.
ОтветитьHi Pam, you mentioned that when gluing the cardboard pieces together that the glue bond was less strong when gluing the finished sides... As a suggestion, a bit of sanding to scuff the surface then while it for dust and it should be as good or nearly to the unfinished sides
ОтветитьLove your videos. I’m a beginner and found a piece of heavyweight scrapbook paper that I would love to use for the front on my journal. I’m doing a themed journal first - garden, flowers and birds. You said it’s best to use fabric. Is there a way to scrapbook paper? Do you have a video showing how to use it? If not would it be possible to use the fabric covering then glue the paper to the front to fit my theme.
ОтветитьWhat do you think about using plastic canvass to make a journal cover with? I mean, either crossstitch the cover or do some needlepoint on the canvass?
ОтветитьMy best craft lady ever 😊 love this tutorial already and not watched it all yet I will watch from beginning to end great for beginners like me 😊 tfs ❤ alison
Ответитьthank you.
