Its historical fact that Hawaii was an independent nation , with its own flag and queen that was taken at gun point by USA. That said the islands that dot the pacific are small but are sought after by nations around the globe. I met a beautiful lady from Palau in Santa Barbara California who told me of hurt and misery the Chinese were bring there. Tahiti needs France more than other way around, not for living but for protection. Ditto for Fiji who is partnered with New Zealand. In short the small pacific islands have to pick an ally or often a bully to keep other nations away. Hawaiians have NOTHING against black people, INFACT, in places such as Halawa housing, Waimanalo, Waianae, and Waipahu there are MANY Black/Hawaiian families that are still here today. It is mostly white people, we consider "Haoles", actually means foreigner however that is who local people refer to as Haole. Hawaii is a gorgeous place, but like everywhere, especially like the mainland US, there are gangs here, drugs, killers, prostitutes, prisons, etc.... Just becuase its beautiful here doesnt mean you'll be treated accordingly. Just because you have the money to travel here doesnt mean your wanted for one, it most definitely doesnt mean that its okay to move to Hawaii and act or live as you did where ever you come from.. If your going to move here you have to respect the customs, the lifestyle, the beliefs and the people in general, becuase one thing about people of Hawaii, we come from a warrior race and are also very emotional, if we feel disrespected in any way, locals tend to take things into our own hands.

Best thing to do is either stay in the mainland, or experience and respect our culture and people, learn the language barriers that stop us from understanding each other and stick to your routine, mind your own business and have fun, enjoy the beaches.

But when you come from the mainland and you move here then start calling the cops because your "LOCAL" next door neighbor is slamming reggae music really loud, YOUR WRONG! Hawaiians have there own way of life and culture that may not always be compatible with common USA life. Its a good thing, it should be protected and respected. In order to do so you can't put people at the head of a table based on race or being born in a place. They have to be put there based on their skills and abilities to lead Hawaii into that ideal place, it does not matter where they come from. Would you want a outside proven international expert in crime reduction to help reduce crime or should one of the native or local law enforcement officials who has not been successful in bringing crime down for decades to lead the fight instead?
