Quite a good video even if one already knows the theory.
ОтветитьDon't get me wrong. I like the content and the presenter, but the guitar sounds out of tune. Am I wrong?
ОтветитьFirst time seeing one of her videos. Well presented and good personality!
ОтветитьSottotitoli 🤔
ОтветитьPlay these in caged forms to expand even further.🎸
ОтветитьYou boost my passion to play again
Ответитьsavage stuff. youre amazing! Thanks.
ОтветитьAbsolutely loved this lesson and the theory thrown in behind it.
ОтветитьOMG - 7mth old vid came into my feed at exactly the right time for me as I was geting really bored being "stuck" in key of C.
Where have you been all my life? Thanks for sharing and getting me out of the "rut"
Love ya work, I'm going to go thorough what else I have missed from you channel and needless to say I have sub'd
-OneLove
Such a great theory lesson! Subscribed 🙂
ОтветитьChird progression 4 would be more easily explained as being A Major (iii ii V9 I VII7)
ОтветитьFab lesson. You're a great player and a great teacher. Blessings in abundance to you. 🙏🏽🌹
ОтветитьI loved the first and last chord progressions!
ОтветитьMy all-time favourite was just known as the Jazz Turnaround when I started in a band. It is (in C) C- A7 - D7- G7. I suppose that is a bit ordinary. by these standards, but it still gives me the chills when I hear it. It is the happiest of sounds.
Love, light and peace,
Bob McGowan (Not the Chair Circle!).
interesting, some of those chords are common used in bossa nova, nice to see them here.
Ответитьthe pure and simple use of pre-existing harmonic progressions limits creativity and takes away the “surprise” element of the music. Avoid progressions as much as possible, if you don't want to stay floating in mediocrity, thinking you're surfing a big wave...
ОтветитьI love teachers like you.
How to do it and just enough of why it works.
Brilliant
ОтветитьWanted you to break down what jimi hendrix did on Third stone from the sun...He was really headed in a hreat direction..combining blues, rock n roll roll,jazz....flamenco...and just his learning buy playing live concerts...
Hey you really know music theory...jam on.
Thank you so much, Just made out of that 1st progression, a strum of C 1+2+3+4+ Cmaj7 1+2+3+4+ Dm7 1+2+3+4+ 1+2+3+4+ Am7 1+2+3+4+ C/B 1+2+3+4+ E7 1+2+3+4+ Fm6 1+2+3+4+ then C 1+2+3+4+ Cmaj7 1+2+3+4+ D7 1+2+3+4+ 1+2+3+4+ Am7 1+2+3+4+ F 1+2+3+4+ Fm6 1+2+3+4+ 1+2+3+4+
ОтветитьThose eyes... I have to watch it again
ОтветитьThis felt like a cooking video for a tasty dish.
ОтветитьI like the way u teach
ОтветитьGreat video. I keep looking at your fretboard and like how is she playing that chord there and then realizing that your fret dots are in some unorthodox places! Hahaha
Ответитьso good
ОтветитьJAMES SCOTT NICHOLSON, ONTARIO, CANADA 🇨🇦, GREAT 👍 FAST TO THE POINT EXPLANATIONS,
WITH COOL 😎 PROGRESSIONS. I AM WORKING ON JAZZ, THIS WAS VERY INFORMATIVE.
ARE YOU SINGLE??? LOL ♥️♥️✌️
I can't do bar chords😢
ОтветитьI like that Fm6
Ответить🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
ОтветитьAn important thing about this progression video is that the chords don't pay all strings. Sometimes skipping a string in the chord helps the voicing stand out more
ОтветитьChord sequence 1 - the last chord Fmi is really nice, but I reckon an E7 instead also works well.
ОтветитьThese are tricks you hear a lot in Sondre Lerche’s music, which I looooove.
ОтветитьMay I suggest that you don't need to make those quite obvious exaggerated expressions to entice us to watch your videos. Your content sells itself. I say this with the greatest of respect. I'm a song writer and I have found your content useful but the "hook" look of incredulity?? Be different by not doing what everyone else does.
ОтветитьProgression 2 just seems to be a I, v, IV in Mixolydian Mode
ОтветитьWow, I love you voice ... so beautiful.
ОтветитьI like her style of teaching-very matter of fact and snarky fun.
ОтветитьThe "augmented climb" is nice
ОтветитьLovely progressions.
I'm working on extra dominant chords for the targetchord. Like in People get ready : D Bm7 G D it becomes :
D Gb7 Bm7 D7 G A7 D A7
A gospel trick 😉
I not only like the progressions but perhaps even more your elaborations! Thank you
ОтветитьLovely❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
ОтветитьHelpful.... Like your explanation 👍🏼
ОтветитьWhat's interesting in the relationship of that secondary dominate which is a V7/V or a D7 resolving to a G Major - But it doesn't do this here it goes to a IV or F Major so is that a substitution resolution (I'm not saying there is any such thing, but how I think about it) or something else.such as an implied secondary dominate, the F7 being a passing chord from F to G without the resolution - the F7 acting as an embellishment (passing chord). It's hard to think of a primary chord as being an embellishment chord. The v minor is a weak chord but it does sound very colorful: it's modality.
The f minor 6th is actually a d half diminished in 1st inversion or borrowed from c pure minor - but not really because the chord before it is a D7 chord the D7 is actually a secondary dominate it's the d half diminished chord that is a substitution of the G chord because that is V7
Love this video! I think chord progression 4 could also be considered to take place in A minor. In that case, the gminor chord is out of key. However, then the progression looks like this: tonic, 7, flat 6, and 5. This is a very common movement in music (might even be a cliche) which explains why it feels so put together, imo.
ОтветитьMusic as I play it and hear it is NOT boring! Say that to John Prine et al! Like the video nonetheless! Plenty to learn and pass on to friends who might be interested. Thanks.
ОтветитьAs always brilliant ! I’ve just been to Melbourne Sydney Newcastle .. wondered where you are. Anyway love Oz
ОтветитьThese are so beautiful - thank you!
ОтветитьFabulous; understandable & effective for someone like me who has struggled w/ much of Theory for years.
ОтветитьVoice not and video are not into sync but value of knowledge 🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♂️
