Dad bought a new 1975 Valiant 4 door slant six beige he drove that to new york from wisconsin twice, once with the whole family (4). Great car actually was real good on the interstate and very comfortable! Never took it to the drag strip though. 🤔
ОтветитьHe needs more converter
ОтветитьNice setup.
ОтветитьAll these guys talking about building a Slant-6, yet here I am... wondering how to mate a 3.8L V-6 (NOT the 3.6! }:[ ) to a Torqueflite, and where to get a stroker kit for it! ;)
ОтветитьThey sound awful 😂😂
ОтветитьNutin wrong with rust, it lightens up the car
ОтветитьRuster?
from that takeoff, more like ThRuster.
It's not getting treed,it's creating a safety margin
ОтветитьAll this Slant stuff is making me want to fiddle with mine!! Im plotting a 5.7 Hemi for my 69 Dart in the near future, but jeez, Slant stuff is Just so cool...!!!
ОтветитьLove the creativity!
ОтветитьI owned a 225 Volare. Everything but the motor failed. The Volares undercarriage was all yellow chalk from the junk yard parts I needed for its constant repairs. Okay. Yeah. 225 what?
ОтветитьYou can’t run a high volume oil pump on a slant six. The extra strain is what eats up the gear, it’s not the rpm.
ОтветитьBad ass car! Imagine if he started putting a turbo on it!
Ответитьaudio was just to bad for me to watch the enire video bbut its a cool ride non the less. Back in the late 70's early 80's one of the Fastest Cars in the Fort Smith Area was in fact a slant 6 dodge Dart that thing was brutally fast even by today's standards
ОтветитьSounds like you have an air leak!!
ОтветитьWow!... I Love it. She Goes Pretty Good too.
ОтветитьMy father had a 4 door Valiant. Slant six with a 4 speed. Only the front right passenger window would roll down, no power steering or brakes. A real handful to drive. Had plenty of fun with it though.
ОтветитьI had a 71 Dodge Demon, 225 slant 6 back in about 78 or 79. Put a cherry bomb muffler on it told ppl it was a 340 lol. A friend had a 'Feather Duster', slant 6 w/4 speed. That thing was quick. Like almost every car I've owned, I wish I had kept the Demon.
ОтветитьLol donut spare?
ОтветитьLove it
ОтветитьI used to be on the slant site a lot. I know this guy's name.
ОтветитьMason Dixon is up near me
ОтветитьAlice in chains would sing yeah there goes the ruster, it ain't gonna die oh no the ruster yeah
ОтветитьThat's how drag racers started, good video
ОтветитьAlmost as impressive as scoring four touchdowns in one game for Polk High!
ОтветитьRecently saw a gentleman take a LS head and cut it up to make a crossflow for a 300 Ford why not one on these ?
ОтветитьI know this misses the point of building a slant...but...imagine how much quicker this would be with just a Magnum or LA.
ОтветитьBest guy hands down building heads engines anything Goodwin comp omro wi. He machines heads out of billet blocks of aluminum. Hes had engines pushing 2800hp in poker run boats he does cars , boats, anything. He would build some nasty heads.
ОтветитьThat is cool not my style but super cool and I bet it is fun too. Thanks for sharing
ОтветитьI absolutely love the ahem,"enginuity" involved with these guys!!!! The last thing I expected to see under the hood was coil packs and no distributor! Now the Holley was no surprise atall, lol! I've been seeing 4bbls on 6 bangers since I got into cars decades ago in the early 80s,and I can't wait to see whatevers next from their brilliant minds!!!!!
ОтветитьI love slant sixes. Currently own one stock one and have over the years driven a few highly modified copies. It was so much fun back in ancient times to outrun a v-8 something or other and when they ask what the engine is I would say “just a grotty little six&”
ОтветитьThe external wet sump works nice we had one just so we could run 2 quarts less, less oil to slow the assembly down, the pressure drops and the extra oil would bleed in as pressure dropped. Loved schneider they probably have his grind on file they keep good records or at least used to thats all i used to run, loved that they kept everything on file you could call them and they could grind one just like it they had the big iron cross decals they sent with each kit. They wont send junk lifters they really build nice stuff.
ОтветитьYeah that's how you do it come up the keystone raceway Tony
ОтветитьNice
ОтветитьHOWdy U-T-G,
Drag Strip for the RUSTER ...
COOP
...
Like to know more about this build, especially the ignition system
ОтветитьTony please make a video about what panels are structural in an A body so we don’t cut them out to save weight
ОтветитьI never realized that man Tony lose some weight
Ответить11.60 quarter that’s very decent, I’m surprised.
ОтветитьGreg (Craig?) is an awesome racer and builder!
ОтветитьUncle Tony; you looked tickled pink.
Ответить🐿🐿🐿🐿🐿🐿🐿️
ОтветитьImpressive times
ОтветитьDude he lives in the same county as me! Come help me finish my Linda 225 ❤😢
ОтветитьI've seen these cars run at Mason Dixon Dragway, they are incredible and the folks are very nice.
Ответитьthats cool i love slant six i have 1965 barracuda with leaning tower of power with Clifford headers offy intake really. ruster that a fast slant six
ОтветитьHe went electric ignition because of power. Just like everyone else that's actually fast. Lol
ОтветитьThe oil pump gear problem is well known .Most people will regrind their OEM cam to reduce the chance of failure.
Ответить
