Brilliant video and really interesting. The Air Ambulance’s all over the UK do a fantastic life saving job.
I visited the Wiltshire Air Ambulance near me to meet the crew and see the base and it was fantastic.
Great to see you again and look forward to more videos 😜👍🚁

G,day Rory from Sydney Australia. Hope your dad's recovered from his medical condition that required an air ambulance.
I was loading patients into a Hong Kong built ex military jet turbines helo with side winch- (2000-2001) off roadways and bushland
Then ended up living next door to the helicopter base. It was funded by a bank, state Ambulance service and community financial support.
Do you have enough hours to fly for an air ambulance? Isn't it a goal to fly onto your home Island?

Great video! It’s good that people get to see the other side of the air ambulance paramedic role as observer and crew. Having flown many air missions with the UK and Australian ambulance services, I can say it’s a great job but thank god for larger aircraft and tool such as the Lucas device. If you ever get to Western Australia, a combined fire and ambulance service aircraft also has off shore search and rescue capability. The crews are winch trained and often take patients off of ships. I’m sure Clinton, James or one of the team would love to show you around.

Well done Rory, tremendous effort. Probably not an easy film to put together. Learnt so much…never knew about wire cutters for instance. Presumably IFR is IFR… same minimas, 1000ft/5 miles?

Great video! Would love to see a similar video with our local air ambulance in Northern Ireland, the swapped out the H135s for Aw109s in the last couple of years. Be good to see the pros and cons of each - already I think the AW109, despite being faster, the wheels lend it to some undesirable situations in wet ground, but interested to hear what the experts think!

Fantastic video showing the work of the team and the aircraft of the SCAA, I have recently joined as a volunteer with SCAA and can’t wait to get more involved, I have been lucky enough to visit the base in Aberdeen and meet the crew )also had a seat in the helicopter) 😊😊 thankfully not as a patient tho hopefully sharing this video will give more of an insight as to the amazing work they do.

They are the "Heroes of the sky", in the Netherlands we have a similar crew like yours, one pilot, a paramedic with navigation and ATC skills and a (trauma) doctor, a three crew team, we have four Life-Liners (H-135) as they called plus two extra, one as an extra stand-by in case one of the four has to be replaced, and always one in a full maintenance/service. We also have two H-145-Eurocopters for patient transport to and from the Northern Islands in the Netherlands or to Germany, but your weather is more challenging, thats for sure.
Thanks for the great video, greets from the Netherlands. 😊👍

Fantastic documentary style video, Rory !! As well as a great helicopter pilot you'd make a great documentary maker as well, well, you already do !! I was glued to this video the entire nearly 28 minutes. Your brother is the spit of you, seems like a great lad. Hope your Dad is as well as can be expected and sending my best wishes to you and your family, all the way from Leicester. I'm James's neighbour ( James of helicentre fame ). Hi Rory, welcome back dude, great to catch up again. I was wondering, do you ever get to fly fixed wing planes these days? As a longstanding subscriber, I recall that you started on these and would've thought you'd have needed to keep your hours up to retain the licence. More videos if you get a chance, thanks.

I'm really enjoying your videos and can't wait to see what you cover next. Currently I'm doing my IFR training on a 135 in Norway. I was looking at some of your older videos and saw that you featured another 135 from the Northern Lighthouse Board that looked very familiar to the one I'm currently doing my training on. I looked into it and found out that our school helicopter was previously registered as G-CGPI which matched your old video. Just thought that was a funny coincidence and wanted to point that out. keep up the great work!

Before I retired, a few years ago, I was the only full-time all year around professional gliding instructor in Scotland, for about 20 years. I sent many pilots solo and suggested to them that they should contribute to SCAA; most of them signed-up for standing orders. For those who were a little reluctant, I suggested that it was cheaper than life insurance.
