Great video Rory its nice to see and very reassuring its a pity that its not funded correctly by government but whats new. Thanks
Ответитьsuper job Rory, hope your dad's ok, I will donate, best from London
ОтветитьGreat video!
ОтветитьBrilliant video and really interesting. The Air Ambulance’s all over the UK do a fantastic life saving job.
I visited the Wiltshire Air Ambulance near me to meet the crew and see the base and it was fantastic.
Great to see you again and look forward to more videos 😜👍🚁
G,day Rory from Sydney Australia. Hope your dad's recovered from his medical condition that required an air ambulance.
I was loading patients into a Hong Kong built ex military jet turbines helo with side winch- (2000-2001) off roadways and bushland
Then ended up living next door to the helicopter base. It was funded by a bank, state Ambulance service and community financial support.
Do you have enough hours to fly for an air ambulance? Isn't it a goal to fly onto your home Island?
🚁🌏🇦🇺
Great video! It’s good that people get to see the other side of the air ambulance paramedic role as observer and crew. Having flown many air missions with the UK and Australian ambulance services, I can say it’s a great job but thank god for larger aircraft and tool such as the Lucas device. If you ever get to Western Australia, a combined fire and ambulance service aircraft also has off shore search and rescue capability. The crews are winch trained and often take patients off of ships. I’m sure Clinton, James or one of the team would love to show you around.
ОтветитьWell done Rory, tremendous effort. Probably not an easy film to put together. Learnt so much…never knew about wire cutters for instance. Presumably IFR is IFR… same minimas, 1000ft/5 miles?
ОтветитьBrilliant video as ever Rory! Makes me miss HEMS even more than I already do! Incredible work they do.
ОтветитьGreat video, thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьGreat episode, thanks so much Rory!
We'll be in Aberdeen in May so will keep an eye out for the SCAA!
I never cease to be enthralled with the fascinating stories you put together Rory, well done! I've followed you since day one, and all I say is congratulations and thank you for all you do for we the viewers. Thoughts and best wishes to your Dad!
ОтветитьOne of the best videos Rory. 👍
ОтветитьGreat video! Would love to see a similar video with our local air ambulance in Northern Ireland, the swapped out the H135s for Aw109s in the last couple of years. Be good to see the pros and cons of each - already I think the AW109, despite being faster, the wheels lend it to some undesirable situations in wet ground, but interested to hear what the experts think!
ОтветитьFantastic video showing the work of the team and the aircraft of the SCAA, I have recently joined as a volunteer with SCAA and can’t wait to get more involved, I have been lucky enough to visit the base in Aberdeen and meet the crew )also had a seat in the helicopter) 😊😊 thankfully not as a patient tho hopefully sharing this video will give more of an insight as to the amazing work they do.
ОтветитьThey are the "Heroes of the sky", in the Netherlands we have a similar crew like yours, one pilot, a paramedic with navigation and ATC skills and a (trauma) doctor, a three crew team, we have four Life-Liners (H-135) as they called plus two extra, one as an extra stand-by in case one of the four has to be replaced, and always one in a full maintenance/service. We also have two H-145-Eurocopters for patient transport to and from the Northern Islands in the Netherlands or to Germany, but your weather is more challenging, thats for sure.
Thanks for the great video, greets from the Netherlands. 😊👍
YT have just shown me your channel and I went there immediately as I love helis. Now you are closer to my home in UK, although I did live near Inverness. We have here in Norwich the same Air Ambulance helicopter based at Norwich Airport, so was well pleased to see all you showed.
ОтветитьAwesome to see another upload hopefully see more soon. Followed you for ages. Hope your parents are well
ОтветитьJust found your channel and I'm impressed by the quality of this video so have already subscribed! I'm from Aberdeen so the video was extra interesting!
ОтветитьFantastic documentary style video, Rory !! As well as a great helicopter pilot you'd make a great documentary maker as well, well, you already do !! I was glued to this video the entire nearly 28 minutes. Your brother is the spit of you, seems like a great lad. Hope your Dad is as well as can be expected and sending my best wishes to you and your family, all the way from Leicester. I'm James's neighbour ( James of helicentre fame ). Thanks for another great video, cheers, Daz.
ОтветитьYour name is very good
ОтветитьGreat video, gives a really good insight into how they work 👏
ОтветитьGood effort, you got further than i ever would have
ОтветитьGreat work, but I have a question here: why is this helicopter based at Aberdeen (east coast) and not at Inverness (more centric)?
ОтветитьThanks for the video, really good and informative.
ОтветитьBrilliant video Rory and a great insight into how the Air Ambulance operates. I hope you are enjoying flying the S92. Would love to get my pilots licence someday 🙂
ОтветитьHi Rory I am 10 years old and I love watching your videos I hope to be a helicopter pilot too
ОтветитьI really enjoyed your latest video
ОтветитьI’ve been watching Hamish’s videos of your family and now have found yours. You both do an excellent job of presenting and explaining your experiences.
I’m looking forward to more!
I live in the US and still am good friends with my penpal who lives in Wormit, Fife. We’ve been friends for over 65 years!
We’re really very lucky to have both the SCAA EC135, the Yellow H145s and King Airs as part of the Scottish Ambulance Service north of the border.
ОтветитьGreat video Rory! 🚁😁
ОтветитьHi Rory, welcome back dude, great to catch up again. I was wondering, do you ever get to fly fixed wing planes these days? As a longstanding subscriber, I recall that you started on these and would've thought you'd have needed to keep your hours up to retain the licence. More videos if you get a chance, thanks.
ОтветитьThanks for sharing your video with us. I'm a SCAA volunteer (and a fellow aviation fanatic!) and this is a great additional resource for people to gain a more visual insight into taskings, something I will mention at future talks. I hope your Dad is on the road to recovery too.
ОтветитьIt’s a shame those rich muppets in the SNP doesn’t dip into their pockets and donate to the trust!
ОтветитьTidy is the best😅 of everythig
ОтветитьBrilliant video Rory - you need to do more of these :)
ОтветитьI'm really enjoying your videos and can't wait to see what you cover next. Currently I'm doing my IFR training on a 135 in Norway. I was looking at some of your older videos and saw that you featured another 135 from the Northern Lighthouse Board that looked very familiar to the one I'm currently doing my training on. I looked into it and found out that our school helicopter was previously registered as G-CGPI which matched your old video. Just thought that was a funny coincidence and wanted to point that out. keep up the great work!
ОтветитьIF ol' Igor was to look down, I feel confident he'd just nod his head (in profound satisfaction), and murmur to hisself:
''Only in a Heelicopter!'' . . ._
Thanks for sharing this Rory! 👍
Hey Rory, loving your vlogs and have followed your channel from the start. Can I ask you which Gimbal you use or recommend ?
Ответитьgreat informative video! i’m a medical student who works part time at the airport sometimes even at bristows but was looking for more info on the SCAA would be a really cool working for them someday
ОтветитьThanks for answering my messages so promptly with you busy with work and family etc, etc .. I look forward to meeting you in person . Could you take me on a tour of Bristow helos and a flight in the S92 ? That would be just fantastic ... I will buy lunch for you ( fish and chips ) if that's what you like . Thanks, Scott.
ОтветитьOk . How about a complete pre- flight walk- through with an engine start up ? If you need me to pass clearances ahead of time , I will give you my info . Thanks for a quick response with your busy schedule and all Rory . Scott T .
Ответитьmore content please - you are missed :)
ОтветитьWhy doesn’t SCAA change to h145 like Scottish ambulance service
ОтветитьWell done Rory. First time I’ve accessed your very professional videos. It’s good to see videos of this quality amongst some very average stuff. Keep up the good work.
ОтветитьBefore I retired, a few years ago, I was the only full-time all year around professional gliding instructor in Scotland, for about 20 years. I sent many pilots solo and suggested to them that they should contribute to SCAA; most of them signed-up for standing orders. For those who were a little reluctant, I suggested that it was cheaper than life insurance.
ОтветитьThis is gold. Thank you for putting in the effort. Being a pilot in command of an air ambulance might be the pinnacle of employment.
ОтветитьGreat job as always Rory. How are you getting on with the rigs?
ОтветитьFantastic video, so worth a follow.
