How to test LED Christmas lights with a multi-meter

Daryl you and my Husband Rory ought to get together- I had to laugh when I saw this video. He does the same thing with his Multi-meter on the Christmas lights. Love You Cousin Keep making these videos they are GREAT!

There has got to be a better way

I watched some of Daryl's videos before, but they didn't have his face in them. This guy looked exactly the way I thought he would. Sometimes the face doesn't match the voice, but in this case they did. He's super awesome!

You guys are funny, peculiar, the second one I watch and again your video is as Jerry King comments ...off the topic. We think you're going to help us to fix faulty led bulb.... First you can't fix it with a m m but it may help you.....Oh well :(

Out of a dozen videos on this subject, this is the only one that explains properly what could be wrong and how to test the fuse without the bulb tool. Thumbs up to the camera man/woman too. Thank you.

I have a pre-lit Christmas tree with LED lights. One of the strings was completely out, but after I fluffed the upper part of the tree (above the dead string), the dead string started to glow dimly. What is happening and how do I get this string to burn as brightly as the rest of the tree?

Zero or close to ZERO resistance when the fuse is good.. What does the multimeter display read when a fuse is bad?

My whole string is out. I have 120v on the female end with the male end plugged into out let. Anyone?????

Need to describe settings more thoroughly. Also the video makes it think that we can test the LED lights. This is just testing fuses and it’s very general. Not useful for what most people want to do it which is check if it’s LED Christmas light is bad or not. No just say it’s too hard and throw away your lights.

My fuses states 1 on my omb scale not zero. When testing the lights Do I keep plug in socket then pull each bulb out? Do I use the black wire and insert into the light socket of the one I pulled? Is it suppose to read 1 too? I am a first time user of a mult cen-tech model 61593. So I have no clue. All other videos from you tube use a Christmas tester. I would like to learn to use this centech. Thank you.

Wrong, you aren’t getting reading of 120v AC on the WIRE because LED are DC, should be a transformer no?

These days, the problem is the entire strand of LED lights goes out, STILL has power to the other end, ( indicating fuses are good, no broken wires).

Thank you Daryl, you are right, spent a few hours on a string of LED X-Mass lights today. Half of the lights do not work. Fuses ok, multi meter shows current all the way through. Good grief!
