Solar is a joke as a whole

Ironic that you mentioned hail damage to the plastic shading over the raspberries in the Netherlands, but never mentioned hail damage to the solar panels. Plastic sheeting is a LOT less expensive to repair/replace than solar panels. I've seen a photo of solar panels that were completely destroyed by one hail storm. May not happen often but only has to happen once.

Seems good at small scales but unrealistic at scale.

No way.. the title is misleading.. without water farming can never be a win. Got it.

This solar panels on farms is crazy generating so much heat and damaging the environment , the wildlife is being killed and birds died everywhere in the area , it’s just making the farmers lazy and rich tbh

Have to say there is great fanfare about this type of technology, I only ask one Question with billions of solar panels being used around the world that have a life span between 15 & 20 years in the next 5 years or so we will see millions being replaced where are they going to go? Land fill no poisons the ground recycling won't keep up. Like plastic bags will be lying around everywhere thrown in river the ocean. In my opinion these solar panel will become an environmental disaster in the future like we have not seen. This needs to be talked about

Optimization would be flexible. If the growing season is bad farmers could choose to keep solar primary function. It should be subsidized for many reasons, 1 is that it helps build distributed generation networks, 2 saves water, 3 crop failure still results in power generation

I think if we put solar cells on our government buildings they'd actually be contributing something to their respective nations and not leeching energy off of them

I like the concept. Added to the panels could be a hard surface water collection system from rainfall. Especially important in Australia due to its dryness. Having channels or gutters attached and piped to underground tanks could have enormous benefit for agricultural and water saving in general. Just a thought.

If they’re going to use solar, put them on existing structures rather than land. Flat roof buildings like Walmarts & grocery stores. Nobody could hardly tell they’re there. Put them over large parking lots. Great for shade. Why aren’t solar panels on top of every vehicle, especially freight trucks? Don’t plaster land with ugly panels.

Why don't they just build roofs over the highways with solar panels? "Free" land, no loss of production. Roads are safer in rain, in sun and on snowy days. All win win.

You answered your question when you said that without government intervention it's no efficient or feasible. In my opinion it could be a good alternative for unproductive lands, but when a product or service can't withstand the market for itself, forcing its introduction doesn't produce good results in a long term, and it tents to disappear. Sustainability is crucial for any new technology or method. Personally i like it, i believe it may be very beneficial for animal farming, as i doubt that it'll affect the productivity and probably it will increase it. Excellent channel and work. Congratulations.
