I really liked him since deccan chargers, and even in light blue jersey with black rbk bat, when he was that explosive batsman, and a good offspinner all rounder.

2007 to 2013 was a long rope for him given to his talent by team management which is dream for a player like manish pandey to get backing even after scoring century in his early part of career in Australia . And also manish pandey averaging 110 for india A from 2014 to 2019 as captain for india A in 50 overs .sad but Rohit for sure justified his talent after 2013 till now. Great leader but he had God backing him 😊.

Thanks boss... a question; why doesnt Jacques Kallis get named along with the other famous all rounders of the 80's & 90's ? Sangakkara has achieved so much and yet its Ponting, Dravid and others whose names count more. Is it the impact the others have created or a perception that is built around these players. Since you do a lot of analysis, some day tackle this too.

Not just in indian cricket, he's gotta be one of the finest batsmen ever. Some might think no he's not, but what Rohit has achieved in his illustrious career, from getting dropped from the WC squad to leading the team into the finals of CWC. From being a confused & experimental batsmen in MO to being the greatest odi opener ever along with Sachin, one of the greatest ever in t20is & now making his mark in test legacy too.

Actually change of Rules In ODIs Helped Rohit Sharma, if you observe keenly he was a big failure in 1 Ball Era, till 2012 his avg was 30 with strike rate of 70 which means very bad stats and people don't know Rohit Sharma actually failed as "opener" in 1 Ball Era in 2010 SA Tour and Rohit was Averaging below 30 At Top 4 before 2012 so he even failed as top order batter too just because of 2 Ball Era Rohit Sharma was survived in cricket before 2011 WC his last 20 innings he scored at 25 avg only 1 50 out of 20 innings so he deserves to be dropped from Squad Kohli,Raina are always better than Rohit at that time and even Yusuf Pathan striking at 100+ SR During 2010 so dhoni was towards pathan selection he was part time bowler as well which team required at that time if there is 1 ball era was continued Rohit carried would have ended In 2011 itself luckily change of 2 Ball helped him .

Rohit should be glad, he didn't play under Ganguly. Else all gaga fans would say how great gaga was to teach Rohit how to hold the bat and gave him life

Rohit Sharma is one of the luckiest players to play for India and it helped his career immensely that he represented Mumbai. And as fans we all glad that he did justice to his talent and delivered finally on his promise else I doubt any other Indian cricketer would get as many opportunities as he did.

Rohit had played 80 Odi games at the age of 26 when MS Dhoni promoted him to open, despite him averaging 30 and coming back from SL with scores of 5,0,0,4,4. A series where he started over Manoj Tiwary (who scored a 50 & took 4-61 in two games he finally got) whom Dhoni kept overlooking in favour of Rohit. Even his Test career, he kept failing in the middle order till he finally got a chance to open in 2019 and has dominated in home conditions batting at the top of the order.

When I look at Sanju Samson, I wonder how his career would evolve if he had a captain like MS who would back him, the way Rohit was backed by MS & Virat
