Great video! Would love to see the ritchey! I have a titanium seven that I would love to say is more comfortable than my carbon ‘14 madone, but it just isn’t. Maybe I should try steel!

Love hearing the bike stories and seeing the bikes that go with them!! And I agree, carbon looks very out of place on a steel bike, esp one with chrome accents. I really like the chromed headtube lug, very artsy and classy 👍

Thumbs up on the proper Elite Cuissi bottle cages with the brass capped buttons. The price on those things sure has risen.

Love this bike! When I was a young hammerhead 25yrs ago.. I rode Cannondale 2.8 Aluminum and an OCLV 5200 Trek… now I have a 1993 Lugged-Steel Specialized Allez built up with 7000 series 105…. And a 2000 Litespeed Tuscany built up with 8000 series Ultegra. I’m old and fat and slow.. give me that Cadillac ride.

I’ve got a Tommasini Tecno, and recently bought a titanium Mach, and can attest to the fact that they’re beautifully built, and lovely to ride. It’s so nice to be able to get custom, handmade bike, unique to you in a world of mass produced bikes.

Beautiful bike. 12 years ago I sold my 27 year old Pinarello. I kinda wish I still had it

If you happen to have a lathe, it's possible to strip some material off an 11 speed cassette to make it fit a 10s hub. You take material off the main crown so it can sit deeper. Proven on shimano cassettes! The only 'but' is if your spokes touch the chain, which usually it won't. Maybe some hubs won't get along with this hack.

George you can always fit an 11 speed cassette to a 10 speed hub, I did this on my tubular 303 wheels.

I had a machinist machine 1.85mm away on a lathe from the inner edge of the cassette spider to clear the freewheel hub. That way you can mount any sized cassette you wish.

I too had to fit the 11-34 HG 800 cassette to my Campagnolo Zondas to enable 11 speed before I came across the machining hack.

Men Thats a nice light blue classic long s-miles custom race machine!
Love it!
Looking to shoot for a Techno or a Fire (a more modern steel design/tubing bike!
Can’t beat Tommassini for Their custom bike stable with Their extensive variety of frame materials but steel is Their heart!

Still riding my 1986 Tommasini Racing I bought in college! hard to believe how much fun it is to ride still. Same 6 speed gears that push my old body. I used to ride 19mm tires at max pressure LOL

Absolutely agree with what you said. All carbon bikes come and go, but high quality Italian steel rim brake bikes are keepers for life. Level top tube bikes are just so classy and elegant to look at. Also, descending fast and safe has nothing to do with or without disc brakes👍. Beautiful and very nicely spec'ed Tecno! Love those Ritchey Classic super polished finishing kit. I think you also have the matching classic one bolt seat post. They're one of the finest Ritchey releases in the recent years. How much does it weight in?
