Great video Zach! I love the instant gratification of some procedures in ophthalmology, whether its from surgery, laser, intravitreal injections etc. That feeling when you've made such a big difference to the patient's quality of life after a quick procedure. Also, ophthalmologists tend to have a good sense of humor- makes for good banter at work! Keep up the great work. Are those new glasses??

I worked as a high volume Cataract Surgeon for 3 years and now I'm currently doing a Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellowship. I'm watching this video now to bolster me for the rest of the day as I have many patients to Laser today in the clinic. But every point you discussed is so true that it felt gratifying to be able to relate to what you're saying.

Your really the only person in ophthalmology going through what it is like and I appreciate that🤝You should react to Med School Insiders video on “So you want to be an Ophthalmologist”. Your rlly make me wanna pursue ophthalmology!

Agree with all of these. Another thing I love about ophthalmology is how much we can tell about the general health of the patient just by looking in the eyes eg blood pressure, diabetic control, if they have sleep apnoea etc. It’s so visual! New subscriber here 😊
