I am a real Dempsey fan ever since I was about 7 and my dad told me about him, so in May 2022 I went to Southampton , cemetery Long Island and paid tribute at his grave, by the way Gary Coopers grave was just around the corner with his wife.

There is something different about a man who grew up fighting just to eat every day. That breeds a different type of person.

Dempsey was possessed of ancient & fearsome Irish Gallowglass fighting genes! In his prime he was the most ferocious heavyweight fighter to ever step in the ring, a savage & devastating face smasher of unparalleled ring brutality, the Jack Dempsey of 1918-1921 would have flattened Gene Tunney in less than 5 rounds (as opposed to losing to the technically skilled Irishman 5 years later, as by that point Dempsey had lost much of his animalistic edge, ravenous hunger & primal viciousness!).

And to those who say that Harry Greb would have beaten Dempsey I say only in your wildest imaginings would a Dempsey during his prime, peak years allow Greb to go more than 4 rounds with him before unleashing a series of destructive body shots that would greatly damage & cripple the otherwise formidable yet smaller & less fierce Greb, face caved in by a far more powerful & viscerally inspired Dempsey.
Dempsey was virtually unstoppable back in the early 1920s, the greatest & most awesomely unrelenting ring machine that the human race ever yielded up (Irish & Scottish Gallowglass genes fully activated!).

I actually just found out in related to this man, ive a lot of learning to do and im excited to do so 🙌🙌. Learning hes one of Mike Tyson's Idol is very exciting

JD was one of Mike Tyson's heros. JD and Muhammed Ali were friends up until JD's death in 83'.

I believe it was Mike Tyson who claimed he looked up the most to Jack Dempsey. I believe I heard him say he tried to model his style after Jack Dempsey’s fighting style.

Read "A Flame of Pure Fire- Jack Dempsey and the Roaring 20's" by Roger Kahn. Great book. Get an idea of what made Dempsey one of the all time great heavyweights.

This guy was not just a boxer this guy was a fighter. Something he got on the streets and not just in the gym.

Dempsey could of killed Willard in that fight. That was a brutal beating.

My Great Grandfather was a big Dempsey fan, when Dempsey was knocked through the ropes against Luis Firpo Pop was right there making his way to help the champ back in the ring.

And yet Dempsey refused to fight Harry Greb who was half his size. Greb sent Tunney to the hospital, and would have done the same with Dempsey.

I have an autographed menu from his restaurant. He signed it to Ray, best wishes. My grandfather passed it on to me before passing! Loved both those men.

I live 20 minutes away from Dempsey birthplace! My grandpa was born in 1874 in the San Luis valley (mogote Colorado20 minutes away also !) perhaps my grandfather crossed paths with Jack at sometime.
