imo the mongols being 'super' powerful is honestly fitting because the mongols, in a relatively short period. conquered a large sum of land and utterly shattered kingdoms and empires in their wake prior to the collaspe. which is mostly accurately represented in game.
and honestly its incredibly easy to deal with.
unless you don't like building an army that functions within the current combat system (which could still use tweaks because super buffing one unit type to a point that it crushes everything. especially if the unit type covers an already powerful special unit like the cataphract or varagian guard) or just well, cloak and dagger and just assassinating the khan the very moment he's in diplo range (and this does include just sending a plagued individual into his court, heck if possible offering one as their cocubine will knock them out immediately)
well, at that point its just hoping the a.i does precisely what I mentioned (especially upset subjects after being conquered, not uncommon for them to just give the khan the finger and try to assassinate him)
I did a Varangian Adventure to Mongolia and became Greatest of Khans in one of my last games. Now I want to try to optimize it so I can conquer the whole world in one life.
ОтветитьI don't think it's over-powered. They always go to about the size they've been historically and I've been able to repell them
ОтветитьLol I want Temujin and his sons to be immortal for lifespan of rl .
Temujin lived for 22 years and all 3 sons lived 19 years after Temujin death.
Only cowards should kill Mongol Empire by intrigue. Most disappointing end.
Ответитьi think it's the opposite, when the mongols spawn you are already too strong, especially when tou start the game in 867
Ответитьthey're not overpowered at all lol... people just need to get better at the game.
ОтветитьOr stack knight effectiveness and man at arms units to just break them in battle
ОтветитьCurrently creating the empire of slavia and my realm is 40,000 strong. I can muster roughly 100,000 in allies. Throughout my save I’ve made sure the Byzantines are very strong along with other European rulers. When the Mongols reach me in about 30 years our battle will be legendary.
ОтветитьWell, since the Mongols are to Crusader Kings what the various end-game crises are to Stellaris, it makes sense that they should be scary to go up against if you're unprepared
ОтветитьWait mongols? The same mongols that die within 3-4 generations of getting into diplo range with at least somewhat competetive player? Just plot to kill thr khan 3-4 times, everyone hates them even a character with 0 intrigue gets 95% success on him.
Ответитьhow to inistall map?
Ответитьit sucks that AI never goes after india. I've never been able to conquer India completely. Somehow the rulers there manage to form a f***ing NATO-like alliances and suddenly I'm not at war with only just one indian duchy for a little province, but now I'm at war with all of India
ОтветитьThe best way is you being the mongols :P
Ответитьjust use crossbows
ОтветитьThe Mongols are extremely powerful especially if you have the misfortune of being their first target. Was once playing as the restored Roman Empire and never knew there was a county out in Mongolia part of my empire and when the Mongols appeared they declared war on me and brought the full force of their horde down on me, forty thousand troops they brought against my over seventy thousand, in Anatolia with skilled commanders and I still couldn't beat them in full on fight.
ОтветитьCurrently playing as the Archduchy of Austria....or should I say the Khanate of Austria? Since the Mongol Empire just invaded and destroyed the HRE. Living that vassal life.
ОтветитьI use my own way, I bear their army by my Roman legions 😂
ОтветитьI love Mongols. It's an inevitable thing I know is coming and have a long time to plan for.
ОтветитьIt’s a skill issue and not being prepared
ОтветитьGreat vid, definitely some ideas I hadn't thought of - I'm doing an 867 run building the empire of Siberia prepping for the Mongols. I role play so I'll go with whatever strategy suits my character at the time, but some great food for thought here. Great video liked and shared.
ОтветитьBeen preparing for 110 years in game I have about 23,000 men and 17,000 in allies im going to pick the mongols apart cause I got higher quality troops
ОтветитьI managed to white peace rather quickly through the following (as supersized Eastern Rome but for any large empire)
1. MOUNTAIN TERRAIN ALWAYS. Like with the Seljuks it ruins their horses offense while giving you a nice defense.
2. Holy orders. I had four potential options but only needed Holy Sepulchre. Given the leader probably has a buff against hostile faiths they are really useful
3. Archer and pike Men At Arms. These guys are like machine guns with the defensive bonus, max them out
4. Varangians but any mercs with pikes and heavy infantry to further boost defense
I did get lucky Genghis only had mobilized half his army near me but hopefully this is useful
In my dutch tall play I stack wiped 40k mongol with just around 10k troops, 4 fully buffed Gendarmes (got up to 300sth damage), 2 crossbow regiments and knights at 4-500% effectiveness. Their empire collapsed after this battle 😅
ОтветитьImo, the ME is both too strong and too weak, you either get crushed straight away or you curb stomp them.
I wish there were more crisis on the game, even if its not historically accurate.
Good video, but marriage alliance doesn't protect you from the Mongols. Their vassals can declare war on you, and there is a bug where the invasion events will target one of your titles. Needless to say, I was quite upset.
Ответитьin my experience genghis just rolled upon the borders of my kingdom and then ramdonly died lmao
ОтветитьBro its 945 and the mongols have already apeared and i bearly have 8k troops i might be cooked
ОтветитьI can stackwipe Temujin's full army...
WITH MINIMAL LOSSES! 🤣
nice video but i was hoping for a proper guide teaching me how to beat them in battle when they attack. if you're gonna duck fighting them might as well just turn mongol invasion off in game rules.
ОтветитьWhile moving my empire East, the Mongolian horde became active. I was taking care of business to get ready and noticed they had a county o in my border! I saw a chance to kill s someone in there and took it. First, try, I accidentally killed a Khan and the horde broke up! Too this day, I'm still stunned.
This year, I'm gonna unite Asia working West to East. Wanna see if as an elite empire can I stop them from forming. Then gonna take my full force West and South. Hope I succeed, but having fun is must important
Great guide! I have an addendum to killing the khans: I had managed to delay their entry to Europe by leading Temujin's forces on a wild goose chase around Siberia while sieging down his lands in southern Ukraine and Russia and thus winning that first war. I'd subsequently lost the Holy Roman Empire due to a bad selection of heir and bided my time as a child king of Hungary. By the time they were again poised to come at me having overrun the Byzantines, their khan, the second one after Temujin, had much lower stats, and, most significantly, prowess. He had somehow got hold of an heirloom of mine, so I (now an adult) challenged him to a duel for it, won easily, and wounded him in the process. Not long afterwards, he died of his wounds and the whole Mongol Empire collapsed. Now I think it's time for some Ostsiedlung...
ОтветитьI find it fun to start off as the mongols, convert to a religion then reform it after becoming the great khan (you have to be tengri at first) then spreading it as far and wide as I can and watch the ensuing chaos as a random successor kingdom
ОтветитьThe mongols in my game did not collapsed cuz they change tbeir succesion to all lion shares to the heir. Now my latin empire is facing invasion
ОтветитьThe problem is not that the mongols have overpowered doomstacks, but the fact that they can conquer your backwater border lands far away from your capital and somehow that can make him force you to give ALL of your lands to him. Paradox need to rework how war score works for super large empires for empire wide casus belli like this. Maybe give him kingdom wide casus belli that doesn't put him on truce when he wins so he can slowly take pieces of your empire until you win against him.
ОтветитьBruh i had a army of 40k and included 5 allies i had a army of 70k but somehow temojin alone had 100k troops
ОтветитьNice guide man tnx!
But I'd like to add that he will respawn even you conquer his location before! So anyway you have to beat him and you can beat him with 101k troops + 25 material + 40 prowess which I did myself with Persian Shah!
