Great to see the Unicorn back 🦄 during his rehab unlike other pitchers at home absent on the mound, Shohei was contributing on the plate hitting and went 50-50, and currently leading the NL in OPS slugging runs scored extra base total base and home runs.

That was a damn good sound coming from Smith's glove.

With 15 pitchers on the IL he wanted to do whatever he could to offer the bullpen some relief. Didn’t do great but 29 pitches is 29 pitches and 1 less inning for the guys to have to carry.

Shohei was definitely rusty but I think he was really trying to hone that power sinker. Crazy that a couple years ago he had no sinker but now he looks like he wants that to be a primary pitch as opposed to his 4-seam.

Dual tennis elbow. Couldn't have anything to do with his ridiculous batting stance and swing over the past decade? He's the ugliest player to watch swing a bat.

My two cents:
1. Good to see him back on the mound!
2. He Seemed a bit nervous at times and clearly lacks control as of now, but that is to be expected after nearly two years. Plus, the Padres don't have that bad of a lineup and without that bad call he would have had a strikeout and possibly not given up a run either.
Overall, I'd say not stellar, but not worrysome either. I hust hope they ease him in and don't overdo it!
