The only thing I can think to make the battle challenge cards balanced is that both the blockers and the snake must be present when the challenge is read. That way the blockers cannot try to practice to get an advantage or have time to look things up in advance

Question, what is even the point of including spurs (like the 2 out of Gwangju Songjeong)? The snaker cant take them since its suicide and doesnt lead to a node, and the chasers have no reason to take them.
