It made little sense for the U.S. to join this as it was quickly realized that our current trade agreements with Canada, Japan, and Mexico go much further than the CPTPP. Canada's and Mexico's largest trading partner for both of them is the United States, after all. The U.S. also has very close and huge trade relations with Japan and Australia. And Canada, Japan, and Australia are making huge purchases of U.S. military equipment. Also, the UK is receiving beef from Mexico now too. And Australian meats. So meat products are flowing over to the UK. 🙂
ОтветитьWhat does this provide to the other countries? They can hear a bunch of anglophones saying "pee pee".
ОтветитьSo now the UK is a colony of the Pacific Ocean 🎉
ОтветитьBS figures
ОтветитьThat list of countries joining the CPTPP at the beginning is like a test question of “what is not like the others”. Lol
ОтветитьI have spoken to some old friends in Australia and it's barely even registered there. I was also I formed that Australians are dissatisfied with membership of the CPTPP as it barely benefits the Australian economy. The current members, Japan excepted, are mostly "Branch Office" economies, heavily reliant on resource experts. Major decisions are made well away from the offices of the companies operating there. This is not the view of someone with only a passing knowledge of Australia by the way, but informed by experience of a knowledge of the historical context of Australia and the direction it has taken since WW2.
In many ways if feels like Britain is attempting to resume its influence in the region, an influence that even before WW2 was waning significantly. It's symptomatic of "British exceptionalism" that Britain thought it's past as a colonial power in the region would result in a hearty welcome to the CTCPP. Gap years backpacking in Australia is NOT mean the British are "experts" with a deep and sophisticated understanding of the Pacific region. It fails to factor in lasting impact if Britain's previous presence in the region. It's the US, even though not a member, that is the big influencer, through trade, cultural and political ties dating back to the 19th century.
It is unlikely that the benefits will even reach the very low levels projected. While the presenter gave an well researched view, as someone who grew up and was educated at university and trained as a chartered accountant in Australia, the view that there is potential for participation from China and India is probably a highly optimistic take on future developments. The Australian experience has been that any developments in the Asia Pacific region have been over a long period, beset with deep suspicion that continue even now. The whole could well result in a British misadventures, the result of post-Brexit euphoria from politicians with no real understanding if a part of the world they have spent so long patronising and sneering at (One only needs to recall Liz Truss' fatuous comments about the Australian politician and the "uncomfortable chair").
As a Vietnamese, I’d like to ask you British a few questions: how long will you go with these regulation until you guys bitch about it, and how much time will past until you guys want to leave something that you guys join on your own accord? We do not want another EU situation, after watching the funny comedy that is the British Parliament. Sorry if it’s harsh, but hey, truth is harsh, deal with it.
ОтветитьRishi gets things done
ОтветитьWhat's this video about again?
ОтветитьNo offence. Great video as always but I am more intrested about the bloopers :DD CPTPTPTPPPTPTPTPTPTPTPTPTPTPT :D
ОтветитьMy god, the left is sickening..
ОтветитьI think at this point we are talking more damage reduction than benefit…
ОтветитьWhy isn't Indonesia in the CPTPP?
ОтветитьChina has just applied... anyone get anything from China , Thousands of miles away?
ОтветитьJust wondered, if this is correct that China is keen to join at some time in the future? I heard the opposite!
ОтветитьThe biggest deal yet is a pittance of what was lost .
And the UK gives up sovereignty to obey the rules and regulations.
It would be hilarious if the US came up with the CPTPP, then withdrew, and then the UK joined, and then China joined.
If China joins the CPTPP it would be the leader in both RCEP and CPTPP 😂
Agrement in princable
Reality: we got no F*KING clue
What a tongue twister
ОтветитьWas it necessary to give up EU membership in order to join the CPTPP? Why not be the bridge between both? Brexit benefit opportunity missed.
ОтветитьSo, you didn't want to have to follow regulations and now you do? And what part of the UK has a Pacific coastline?
ОтветитьThis is the final nail in the coffin. Just when you thought this country couldn't get destroyed any further.
ОтветитьWeird canadians selling experimental gmo food and hormone injected beef using the free trade deal.. 😂😂😂👍
ОтветитьThe order of the 🇹🇼Taiwanese icon and Thailand🇹🇭 are misplaced...
Ответитьso China has applied to join and its nothing like the EU, you guys make me laugh. US looking at rejoining.
ОтветитьAlso joining the GCC, which India is joining
ОтветитьSo UK voted to go out of a single market and now joining a new one thousands half a globe away??
Very "clever" in my opinion....
Take a shot every time he says "C", "P" and "T".
ОтветитьSo do you think the CCCP can be trusted about anything at all?
ОтветитьTake a shot on ever CPTPP
ОтветитьGreat as usual
ОтветитьAt what cost?
ОтветитьI find it hard to believe Barak is that stupid/ naive. Sure, he could make a trade block so big China would be forced to join, and agree to the rules, but there is no way the CCP will ever respect IP. I have a feeling it's a half truth. It was probably a response to the threat of the CCP. It's been done before. Make a trade block, yell love peace, trade then slowly start forcing the countries to host your military bases and sign defence treaties. Hopefully get a long list of vassal states in the process.
ОтветитьI dont know why people are complaining, everyone was told Brexit would make the general public poorer if they left the EU.
ОтветитьThe impact appears mainly cosmetic, for the UK to show it made a trade deal after Brexit,” Chris Devonshire-Ellis, the chair of the investment advisory firm Dezan Shira & Associates, told Nikkei Asia. “No one in Asia is taking the pact very seriously.”😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьIt's Check Mate to the Remainers now! 😂
Britain will never rejoin the hated EU ever again.
The trade deal with the largest trading block on the planet has 'put paid' to that!
Remainers - expect a lifetime of sulking... 😂
Englishman : “CPTPP!”
Frenchie: “Si petit pipi?”
Advantages of TPP
No ideology (like Pan-European, Sinocentrism, etc.)
No ruler (I won't say who, but C, E, A)
At such a table, member countries are free to discuss the new rules of trade. And you can also recruit new member of your choice.
Anyway, welcome to pacific, from Japan
Google translate lol
Only one country in CPTPP has no coastline on the pacific. It’s like joining a country club in Australia when you live in Birmingham. Oh well …
ОтветитьChina 'could' join but probably wont....Why would they they are a number 1 economic power 😂😂.....with the EU 😂!!
ОтветитьA rounding error in the GDP. And only in the long run.
Well done UK! Your chronic under-achievement and self-congratulating attitude that comes after used to be funny. Now is pathetic.
Mediocrity is terminal and you can do and deserve better
Thousands of miles away I'd say, not hundreds.
ОтветитьI’d buy a British built car in Australia
ОтветитьOh good, Do we get Freedom of movement and the right to live and work in all these Country's. Re-Join the EU by 24.
ОтветитьI would suggest "the agreement" would be quite easy to understand.
ОтветитьNot surprised Trump pulled out, complete idiot !
ОтветитьWhen it's such a mouthful you can just say "the partnership" or "collective" or something.....there is really no reason to say CPTPP that many times
Ответитьmissing members in CPTPP🇮🇳🇰🇷🇮🇩🇹🇷🇹🇭🇵🇭🇹🇼
ОтветитьThis would save £0.001 per £5000 spending to the uk people and increase profits for corporations in billions!
