You know, I never thought of it until right now and it's confusing. When the first face-hugger strikes in Alien it essentially melts through the shield and onto his face. BUT it's tail was still outside and over the chin area of the helmet before wrapping around it's neck. Even though, in the ship, they have to cut the helmet off there is no clue that it readjusts it's tail to wrap entirely and closer around his neck. Is this just a "oh well, you're thinking too hard" thing or after seeing it twenty times did I miss it gripping tighter once the helmet was removed?

Ridley Scott forced Blomkamp's Alien 5 into oblivion because he wanted to make Prometheus and then Covenant. Alien 5 was going to basically be what Alien 3 was SUPPOSED to be. Friggin' shame.
