The issue with the Kings is a few things.

1.) terrible mismanagement basically giving assets away for absolutely nothing, in addition to acquiring players that do not contribute to a winning culture.

2.) Not holding players accountable by firing Mike Brown who was the driving force of a culture being built..

From GM of the year to worst GM of the league lol. The mismanagement of that team, trying to recreate Bulls West is just unbelievable. Derozen is not a winning player in 2025. His old game clashes with other players and he's not good enough at his own game to justify it. Shai plays similarly but does it much better and he still shoots 3s. Fox was never the playmaker that Hali is and even as a shooter he's overrated which explains why nothing actually happened for the Kings besides making the playoffs lol. They floor was busy af. No actual shooter or playmaker. Hali would've covered both bases. Hali with Sabonis and Demar could've been something decent to hold them over until they can build a whole roster. If they had kept McDaniels with those 3...that's beginning to look good. GMs make moves just for the sake of it sometimes lol
