Oh! Now now tell eBAC, To come to Australia, you have just done a great trade deal with OZ.
ОтветитьWhen my Empress finally gives up, I'll buy British again, but it looks like the old Empress will out last me !
ОтветитьI hope the quality is good as I would like to buy domestic made products. My only concern would be my experience with eBay dehumidifier’s. I have had two units. One failed and the replacement rattles and makes noise when running. A quick kick or shake stops this but it’s annoying. Get the quality right and I would consider one of these. However the cold feed only is for 99.8% of people more efficient. We simply don’t have that many people using solar.
ОтветитьYou don’t have a better name for the washing machine?
ОтветитьSomeone correct me if I'm wrong but I understand that making domestic appliances repairable is a EU directive?
ОтветитьBuying British is a lovely idea but I've always found that British means expensive. I've never understood why it needed to be so as it is made here, no shipping from Turkey or China just manufactured here, I needed a new machine two weeks ago so I checked these Ebac ones out. I wanted a 9KG with 1600 spin speed. The Ebac one was an astonishing £599, the Beko one which had the same load and spin (as well as other additions) was just £349. No contest- I bought the Beko. I do not have money to throw away like that, and if companies like this want people to buy British then they have to be less greedy and be competitive. A great washing machine it may be (even with a sever year warranty) but for me, who only does one wash every three weeks or so it it £250 too expensive. Add £100 to that and I can buy another BEKO in a few years.
ОтветитьIn 1989 I bought a new Miele washing machine. 26 years later, after three children's nappies, and one grand child's, plus our general 5 person family's washing, I gave it to my middle daughter. One day out of curiosity I took the back off to see how it was made. Quite different to any other machine I had worked on, there were no concrete weights, no water filled weight tanks. Never since 1989 has it needed a new drive belt or anything. I have a saying: If you know it was expensive but you can't remember how much it was, and it is still going, then whatever it cost it was worth it. Having said all that if my current Bosch goes wrong I'll get one of these Ebacs, just because they are made in England and are repairable.
ОтветитьWow the motor is so quiet. Almost like the inverter one.
ОтветитьI worked for Ebac, where it had the highest score rating on the Trustpiolet review site of most other washing machine manufacturers
ОтветитьMy Russell Hobbs is done for. This is what I like.
ОтветитьNo difference from machines made 10-15 years ago.Only thing going for it is the 7 year guarantee which is parts and labour. One could also buy a £200 cheapie and insure via Domestic and General for £5 per month after initial warranty period expires. Appreciate eco credentials, but they could make outer tubs from steel and enamel them, like machines of 30yrs ago.Very little plastic in those appliances and little need for pcb’s either, thus making them more reliable and cheaper to repair.
ОтветитьWith with genuine Lucas electronics LOL
ОтветитьHow do you access the heating element?
ОтветитьWE bought a HOT feed version. It makes so much more sense as there is so much less to go wrong. Its amazingly quiet and feels better made than current Miele
ОтветитьEBAC...please make a DRIER !
ОтветитьWhat is model number please you have been reviewed please
ОтветитьDid you ever get around to the servicing video and replacement of bearings video? Would be a video i definitely want to watch, thanks.
ОтветитьI think ebac should have a National advertising campaign as many haven’t heard of this British brand .
ОтветитьWhich? tested some Ebacs and was highly critical of their cleaning ability - which is s shame 'cos I'd like to buy British.
ОтветитьLooking at an Ebac after my Beko is playing up again!, what are these machines like at energy consumption? Like the idea of not having to worry about my washing machine for the next 7 years. Also a local independent electrical shop sells them, so I could shop local too, win win if they are energy efficient
ОтветитьHow exactly do you class it as repairable?!? If EBAC say the machine has no warranty (you forgot to register it or bought it second hand) or you live in part of the UK they don't cover (parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland), they WILL NOT even talk to you and getting parts for it is like trying to replace a cats tail! You can't even buy the parts either and have to hunt around to find replacements (ie KEBS pump)
ОтветитьIn principle, a brushless motor can be made to be more reliable than a brushed motor. Of course, as with anything, you can cut corners and squander an inherent advantage.
ОтветитьIs it true that Ebac washers, when shorter programmes/ cycles are on, reduce the spin down to 800 instead of 1600 leaving clothes soaking wet? And if it is true, WHY???
ОтветитьYou've convinced me, my Ebac machine is on order, although a little disappointed that a lot of their machine are currently out-of-stock and I'm having to wait until 28th Sept
ОтветитьWith respect, who are you though, and what is your background/qualifications? Why did Ebac approach you in particular? And why should we trust what you are saying? As most of us won't know you from Adam!
Good video though, it is good to see how items like these are screwed together.
i cansee samsung
ОтветитьSo frustrated with my Samsung ecobubble. Drainage pump works independently. But bloody circuit board fault not firing it up when needed.
Parts and labour come out over £250.
Bought an Ebac yesterday. 7 year parts and labour.
Must be 11 or 12 years ago we bought an ISE10 machine, designed in Britain apparently but made in Sweden, 10 year warranty well priced parts, about £50 change from £1000 if i recall correctly, similar pricing to 10 year warranted Miele machines.
2 years later the company goes into liquidation, hence the 10 year warranty void and anyone's guess what parts will still be available.
However its never missed a beat, is built like a brick outhouse weighs roughly twice as much as the Bosch it replaced and does everything you ask of it.
I hope Ebac do well.
Defo my next washing machine purchase & machine that doesn't sound like a jet engine & a house holder can repair it themselves. Great video
Ответитьi am looking for a hot fill washing machine to replace my hoover one touch machine i have a combi boiler and i am thinking that with the hike in electricity that heating my water with the gas combi is going to save me money in the long run also i am going to have to look around for a hot fill dishwasher. great info on this video thanks
ОтветитьThis will probably be the machine we buy next. I am fed up with cheapo's which last 2 to 3 years.
ОтветитьGreat video, the company needs you as the sales director to explain the benefits to the larger chain stores giving the people more choice. Well done Nigel
ОтветитьThe only problem is they dont manufacture top loader washing machine. Will they do it bespoke for me if I order?
Ответитьsir what i found is induction motors are more expensive and are far more reliable than carbon brush motors
ОтветитьHow nice of Ebac to use screws to separate the front of the outer tub, so you can remove the inner tub to replace spider, bearings, etc. My machine has metal clips there, and I must say it’s always an adventure to take them off and put them back on.
ОтветитьWill this machine do an ‘economy wash’, so that it will use the hot water from your hot water heater, without heating it to another temperature???
Ответитьi Hope the Ebac machine has a power factor correction circuit to countermand the motor inductance .
ОтветитьJust had a bearing go on a crappy hot point ( lower case ). They was good!!!!!!!....
ОтветитьBrilliant video, but do you know how to get into the engineers service menu on these ebacs? I have one and really would like to know how to test the different spin speeds manually. Thank you.
ОтветитьI was nearly sold, but then I looked for spare parts online and there are none. I emailed Ebac who replied saying that they won't supply spare parts, so although repairable, if you can't get the parts it's just a giant paperweight when it breaks.
ОтветитьSo how have these machines stood up? Are they easy and economical to service now they have been in the market 3 years?
ОтветитьWhat material is their spider made from?
ОтветитьI own an Ebac e3850 dehumidifier and it's a very good quality product. When I was researching the dehunidifier purchase, I noticed the washing machines and saw they were repairable and for this one thing alone, the next time my washing machine breaks down and needs replacing I will be investing in an Ebac washing machine. They hgaven't gone dwn the planned obselence route which is a very noble thing to do and they stand by their machines witht he 7 year parts and labour warranty. in recent times, my family and I have gone on a 'Buy British' trend wherever possible, having bought a toaster and kettle from Dualit (made in the UK, near Crawley -Gatwick Airport area) - yes they were expensiveto purchase but they are well built and more importantly, they are easily repaired so it means I won't be having to buy new ones any time soon - the toaster even has a label on the underside stating the name of the person who put the toaster together! As for Ebac, my only wish is that they would design and manufacturer a heat pump tumble dryer as I'm needing to be buying a new one very soon (ASAP really, but more likely the new year now) but its not something they make as yet, so I'm having to buy one from the big manufacturers (Samsung probably).
ОтветитьI go to ebac’s factory in Newton Aycliffe to load shipping containers full of these.
The amount of returns they get are unbelievable.
Most of the staff reckon they are crap.
I had an ebac dehumidifier that had problems just outside the 5 year warranty period. I replaced it with a German (Trotec) machine that packed in after about the same time and made enquiries about fixing it because the cost of dehumidifiers had gone up so much. The manufacturers told me not repairable, just bin it. I then found out ebac have a repair service on their machines where they collect and deliver it back, repaired and guaranteed for £99 for machines up to 10 years old. They also pick up the phone and speak to you if you contact them. Let's hope British companies like this are making a comeback. We are now more mindful of landfill mentality and China is no longer so cheap to manufacture disposable goods. I've just bought a British (Haden) microwave, one of the only ones I could find with a non rusting stainless steel cavity, the death of most microwaves with years of use left in them. The old one cost about £15 less, made in China and lasted 4.5 years, cavity is rusted thru already. False economy and sheer waste. Funny how things often turn full circle!
ОтветитьI have a hotpoint, its still working - do I wait till it dies to buy something like this? Or do I try and keep it in service?
ОтветитьHello am in the market for a new washer what would u recommend is the most reliable in ur experience?
ОтветитьNot everyone can afford these machines that's why buy £200 ish ones
ОтветитьDirect drive motors are the way to go LG copied this from Whirlpool they are even quieter, not audible at all, only hear the water splashes and a little on spin, makes the spin more balanced than a belt system. Plastic outer drum is also bad, need a stainless steel outer drum, not enough struts either.
ОтветитьI own one of these machines and it is brilliant. Mine come with a seven year warranty. For the money you simply cannot go wrong.
