Unconditional fan of Pereira, but Vakhitov won this fight. Better harder cleaner shots, agressor, even better low kicks. Pereira had a few knees and his punches didn't affect Vakhitov. Plus you gotta give credit for moving forward and seeking out the opponent, while Pereira just waited to counter and never did anything great. It was close, but Vakhitov DEFINITELY won.

BIg alex fan here from his amazing UFC fights, didn't even know Vakkhitov. But i honestly thought Vakhitov won this fight, but I'm not saying it as a robbery as it's a very close fight. But if you try to analyze it. Alex had the higher punch out put, but i thought that was kinda expected since he was the active fighter, and he's the longer guy (meaning he'll put active pressure to keep fight at a distance in which he excels at), whereas this Russian dude had a long lay-off and had a hand surgery, he's also the shorter guy which meant he had to close the distance and that meant getting into the fire to throw fire. Either way, I'm excited to see how it would play out in their MMA fight.

The only thing that turns me off from kickboxing are the huge gloves. I think it takes away the skill gap when someone can just shell up the entire fight and block every incoming punch. If Artem used that guard against Poatan in MMA then he would catch an earshot and go straight to sleep. Adesanya talks about how he favors the small gloves for the same reason.

MMA and boxing fan here. Why are these fights so short? 5 3 min rounds isn't even half a boxing world championship fight. I get it's different, maybe more tiring and more damage per round, but these are elite athletes. They could easily do 10-12 like this. There's a lot of aspects to a fight you aren't even going to see when it's this short. Like putting on a high pace, using cardio as a weapon, or body shots early to take the head late.
