They love the idea of having a brand but don't want anything to do selling, marketing, logistics; hell, they don't even know anything about their product. These "brand" owners probably do not even know what fabric is the best, don't know the basics of pattern making, sewing.
Oh yeah, let's talk about the main thing: the client! These "brands" don't give a fuck about how they're selling or to who they're selling, customer experience is terrible and the product presentation is trash.
It’s crazy the amount of tiktok brands that come out that look the exact same. There is no story telling behind it, nor is there any authenticity to it. It does tend to be hard to find a good clothing brand that is truly authentic BUT I will say if you look hard enough for it you’ll find it.
ОтветитьWhat song is playing in the background?
Ответитьcool vid! new sub here :D
Ответитьyou look underdeveloped
ОтветитьJust found this gem of a video. I started out recently and I am making clothing for breakdancers. I started breaking in 2009 and have been graffn’ since 2011. I have slapped some original logos on blanks but I want to create more. I hate looking for manufacturers in China. That’s BS. So I am taking the time to find some in the USA. You are helping me think differently about my approach. Thank you.
Also, Lupe Fiasco kick push in the background. Legendary!
So on point about storytelling for building your brand. Everyone wants to support genuine people and businesses. Love hearing your generation perspective. Keep content like this going!
ОтветитьFinally about time someone says the truth
ОтветитьThis is sad to see, that people think they can just push out clothes without actual brainstorming or doing some work before sending out a hoodie or a shirt that looks like the rest of the clothes out there. Fast fashion at its worst
ОтветитьIf your heart led u to designing clothes in high school, that means part of ur purpose in life is to make that real. Much love.
ОтветитьWe live on a time were zombies are real, but no one realizes because they are only just another zombies as everyone else.
ОтветитьAs a clothing brand owner , who upcycles old denim jeans , seeing a random brand on insta posting about how they make so much in sales is so annoying. Seeing lame and uninspiring designs . It hurts knowing that someone is really buying just garbage clothes
ОтветитьI feel that this is a phase and that once all the bots that buy from these brands realize there buying china crap it’ll fall off
ОтветитьThe kangol with the long sleeve goes crazy 🔥🔥 I feel like I’m watching Harriet the spy or something
ОтветитьQuite refreshing to see a fashionista your age that GETS IT! We live in an algorithm driven, force-fed influenced world, and I come from a time where fashion was a unique, personal expression. Our only influence was everything we were exposed to IN PERSON. But the biggest, most important thing is to impress YOURSELF first, and not others around you. When you’re impressed and confident with your own style, everyone else around you will see that. And if they don’t, effem.
ОтветитьStumbled upon this video thanks to the algorithm very great video as I was thinking the exact same thing! I’ve seen so many brands that have came out of nowhere especially here in the UK where they have a pretty sizeable audience but it’s mainly due to the people affiliated with it and it’s honestly annoying. I own a clothing brand as well and it’s just slightly a year old and I made it during my last year of uni (college) but I didn’t plan for it to be a brand as I felt that everyone and their dog wanted to make a brand and it put me off but as the project progressed, I saw myself having fun creating the designs and even screenprinting them myself which felt empowering. I’ve always had a love for clothes and brands but I was always denying it but my friends and family could see how I liked it especially how I dressed so I thought why not and since the brands conception, I have done three pop up events (not to brag 😅) but that alone showed me I can do it and I feel like I’ve built a small community for it and that’s all I’ve ever wanted in general. Sorry for the long comment again great video keep it up!
ОтветитьAre you half Filipina?
ОтветитьThey don’t make different, unique, or nice pieces. They use regular pieces and then try to do something different with regular pieces while all having a similar style from other brands that they’ve all taken inspiration from.
ОтветитьFINALLY SOMEONE talks about it let’s say it how it is those brands are trash and it’s not considered fashion ! I would rather be naked than wear that garbage
ОтветитьHope you get back to designing your clothes!!
ОтветитьI agree with you to an extent, create what you love, learn how to market,If you are as dope as you think you are you will see success with time. Remember the people in it for a quick bag will always fade away, the real creatives will always have longevity, the “TikTok brands”aren’t drowning out anything, the dope will always rise to the the Top. It’s the same in every category of life from music, art, etc
Ответитьlol glad I started my logo from scratch it’s different n nobody has this logo ! As long as it’s something people never seen they’ll get attracted to it! And I can do different things with it so I’m not worried ! You gotta trademark your name and logo so it can’t be used! The thing with clothing People are gonna always need it so it will sell regardless of the brand ! Some just gonna sell more than others depending on your fan base and marketing ! Lol that’s y it’s like this
ОтветитьThank you for making videos like this I have been making clothing for about a month now and I've put a lot of effort to make my brand big on TikTok and make my brand separate from the rest of these brands and doing other, I love that your spreading awareness please make more.
ОтветитьSo glad you elaborated on this topic, needs more awareness!
Ответить“Go take a nap” LMAOOO
ОтветитьThis is how I felt about music especially hip hop...Now am into fashion I see it too...and now you're talking about it... authenticity is fading away but let's not give up. Radio and news papers still exists and so will every other original shit.
ОтветитьThank you I been feeling like this for the past few years now
ОтветитьI’m a designer, my own designs which I make from drawings, and model how it looks realistically it’s becoming really corny to see copy paste designs for $120+
ОтветитьSo do sorry to tell you but that's what a lot of us can only afford.
ОтветитьFashion is way too expensive for most of us. That's why we support it that's why we buy it duhhhh
ОтветитьExample I freaking love kango but can't afford it so I just get the knock off like so many other poor people. We like fashion too but can't afford most of it
ОтветитьIt's funny that I didn't hear you mention the price points of urban fashion on tictok it's cheap and all we can afford
Ответитьthose are the wannebe big brands these brands are not long online
ОтветитьSomeone had to call it out 🙏
Ответитьyou should add huni clothing to your unique brands. even though she is now very popular and saturated, It's because she has a unique voice and people started copying her.
Ответитьfine shyt
Ответитьi do agree the market is saturated with a lot of get money quick micro brands and copycats but what you were describing has been a thing long before tiktok its just being highlighted more because of it. most of the large streetwear brands outsource to manufacturers in those same regions, they sell you overpriced clothes and realistically some of them dont even have good stories or people cant even tell you what the story behind them are.
i get the frustration but the brands that arnt getting the love are just not marketed well and thats the most important thing at the end of the day. you can have the best products, the most unique designs, the dopest concepts, materials and the best profit margins but the reality is if you cant sell it dont mean shit.
I've noticed this and I've been trying to start my own thing that's definitely different and its so impossible to grow and market unless you're one of these soulless brands. I will obviously keep trying and not let this stop me as I'm very passionate, I just wanted to share
ОтветитьGreat video on this topic but um my question’s a bit off topic. Which Kangol hat is that? 😅
Ответитьi feel like every trend will have a counter reaction. people are already tired of tiktok brands. i actually believe this is a huge opportunity for the ones that are "Serious" to stand out. cheap and boring designs have been around even before tiktok. originality will always stand out and if your making more "niche" clothes you also have to expect a niche costumer. i agree with everthing youre saying but this should be a creative challegne for every designer tbh
ОтветитьTheir being pushed by influencers, brands with no substance
Ответитьyoure telling me these people really dont design they own shit....and im out here spending hours on hours with my designs man thats crazy!
ОтветитьExcellent analysis
ОтветитьWell said, friend. You will go far ✊🏼
Ответитьi dont care about fashion but i care if the clothes look good and the ones you linked in bio are all ugly to me, most ppl would 100% rather buy the hoodie with matching flare pants from tiktok, fashion heads stroke themselves about art and fashion meanwhile have on the ugliest clothes
ОтветитьExcellent analysis, they’re just losing for a quick get rich scam they don’t have passion for street wear at all
ОтветитьAlso don’t don’t apologize for speaking the truth these people need to hear the truth since no friends or family will tell them the truth
ОтветитьFr I'm sick of seeing "this is my new Christian streetwear brand" and it's just all the same copy and paste stuff with no brand identity. Nothing to get behind. No personality
Ответить
