Martinez in the middle is good in possession. The problem is if teams play more direct, high balls, if Martinez becomes isolated against a CF like Haaland, Solanke, Nuñez. Then he might struggle. The central CB needs to organise the defence and I think be able to physically compete with a strong CF. Ideally have pace as well, which Martinez doesnt have.

The two centre-midfielders spend most of their time behind the ball, occasionally they might push forward to add another player to the attack, arriving at the edge of the box. But their main duties involve staying in the middle, offering passing lanes, linking the play and recycling possession. Then offering protection defensively, covering a lot of ground when both wing-backs are pushed forward.

I dont think Mount is the right profile in possession to play deeper.

You lose me when you can't see the obvious problem with Bruno's game that costs us control every week.

The only way to impose his "authority" as someone that's basically their "peer" is for him to rely entirely on "imposing" his intelligence. Being authoritarian and throwing his weight around in the classic sense isnt necessarily useful nowadays. Being able to tune into the individual nuances of the personalities, backgrounds, and motivations of each player, which is far more demanding, will be his best approach, especially as someone who inherently doesn't give off a fatherly or uncle vibe among the players.

I think there's far too much romanticizing about Fergies hairdryer. Nothing like that will ever be present at utd ever again. And it's a vastly different time now. Just like many of us in our daily lives, the players are inundated with a million things to occupy their attentions, they're not only on a football pitch every waking hour of the day. They need someone that can target their psyches in a manner that unlocks their enthusiasm for optimal talent output at a rate of consistency that'll allow them to see how good it feels to perform well while having fun that keeps them interested and engaged with who they are at their core as individuals. High performance isn't just about cracking whips and slagging people off to stiffen their spines and keep them alert superficially.

The training ground was paid by INEOS not the club at a cost of £50 million. it doesnt bear any relation to FFP, therefore that money coudnt go and help the clubs finances

i looked at Bodo Glimts recent form and stats yesterday, what i saw is our recent form and stats are greater than there's. yes they've won some games against good teams, yes they are gonna win their league title, by no means do i fear them, nor should we, we just need to be clinical which is something we've struggled with this year. i predict a win at home for us and we should use that as fuel going forward. big up Sam and all UPTV fam

Neither Bruno or Mount are suitable for the deeper midfield role. Bruno likes to get on the ball more than Mount, but then he also loses the ball more often and is probably not as disciplined as Mount defensively. I'd probably pick Bruno, but would much rather him play further forward.

I think Rashford , cassimiro and Bruno have got a guaranteed minutes clause in their contracts if they're fit I really do because of how they start even if they've played shite for the last 5 matches they are in massive wages as well but definitely think they've got that clause in their contracts

Yeah Rashford was fighting two giants doesn't cut it there are loads of forwards that are only 5 ft 6 inches that run rings around defenders that are over 6 feet and built like tanks but he was 100% spot on when he said Rashford has to want it and work for it

I am not against United raising ticket prices. The last one was in 2023 and before that prices stayed the same for 11 seasons. Granted the club should have consulted with fans and most fans would have appreciated the gesture even though they would have not have liked paying the higher prices. Who would? But I fear its either that or more lay offs would ensue. A more drastic option could be that United becomes a selling club, selling its prized academy players to reduce its debt and interest burden.

Why should man united pay 350k/week to Rashford and wait for him to work hard, perform well,This is not a charity club,i am insisting because this is the main problem,every problem will circulate around this issue if this favouritism continues,i dont care who wants in the top hierarchy to start Rashford every game irrespective of his awful performance in each and every game...this needs to be stopped

The job cuts , the ticket price hike is 1000% because of how badly the rats that he the glazers have ran United's financial into the ground I honestly think woodward got out when he did because he knew he'd squeezed everything he could out of United for the glazers and knew how bad it was going to get that's why he bailed and even though it was a financial mess the glazers kept on taking their yearly golden watches out and it's always the fans that get the thin end of the stick and the debt we're in how this year tops 990 million that's 650 million of the glazers original buy out debt from when they bought United plus an extra 266.8 million of the club's revolving credit facilities we all know the glazers have ruined and people say well United has a massive fan base and it's a massive business I say if it's that good and successful why are we still in nearly 700 million worth of debt from the glazers original 790 million in loans they used to buy the club and it was three American hedge funds that have the glazers the debt to buy United and have paid 750 million just to pay the interest on the original debt they haven't even later anything of the actual loan it's just three quarters of a billion in interest that's how bad they've run the club and that's not to mention the yearly premiums they've paid themselves

I 100% agree about INEOS. As much as I don't like the job cuts and ticket price raising, they're focused on turning United into a profitable (and more importantly, a sustainably profitable) football business. My problem with the tickets is that the lack of talking to the fans - It would have been great if they said (contractually) "we're raising prices for x years, then reducing the prices after that once the ship is settled." If they then didn't do the drop, we'd know they wouldn't keep their word.

Whilst I have been very happy with INEOS, we had a potential buyer that would not have needed to do theses cost cutting measures and would not have needed to raise ticket prices, maybe they should have left it to Qatar who had the finances to do it without making the staff and fans pay.
