Links Final Smash is not a projectile because it's a long long long hitbox that extends from link.

For the "Glow effects go away" part, I assume it's all the final smashes where the original character models disappear and reappear. Maybe the effect is not programmed to come back with the original model after disappearing?

If you use Dora's fiagra and keep on using it and then peach/daisy do their final smash, you will override the sleep phase

Since you can move after death with the Fox/Samus situation, is it possible for you to then kill a 1-stock Fox and posthumously win the match?

Ganons final smash may deal more damage due to the team power going up when adding another spirit—it doesnt have to be only cos of the shooting attack up buff

The fact Fox somehow managed to use it on a dead character reminds me of something… I once somehow had a CPU stamina battle where Steve used a final smash in a dead character before they poofed. The house of boom was empty, lol.
Unfortunately I forgot to record the replay…

For the star fact, it looks like the hammer is still there for a few frames before it gets auto-poofed, and it's the same as with the star itself.

The damage up on the final smash is prob because the spirit also boosts just regular attack

My best guess about why this happens is speed, trajectory, and gravity/ground tracking. I seem to recall when playing around with final smashes when the game first came out, that links final smash is a) near instant b) horizontal and c) unaffected by gravity. I think that it is some combination of these effects that make it impossible to code as a “projectile”. Similarly we see that Mario’s final smash has a) a non-instant speed b) a non-straight and non-parabolic path, and c) is unaffected by gravity. It is also not counted as a “projectile”. So combining these observations, a projectile may require a finite speed, but additionally a trajectory for which the physics engine can act upon, though, whether or not a projectile is affected by gravity might not be completely necessary, since ganondorfs final smash does not appear to be. TLDR; anything that is instant, or cannot be mapped as a straight line or parabolic arc; cannot be categorized or instanced as a projectile in the games engine.

For the first one saying the prevent you from dying to the top blastzone thing, you don't die unless you're in hitstun, so if you just don't get hit while being in the top blastzone you don't die! Hope this helps

i think the reason why bowser and king k rool don't slide down the screen is because they have claws that would stop them from sliding.

So that's the real reason ive clanked with spindash or fsmash with it, i don't remember

Link's final smash's hitbox is a straight line like Joker's gun (might be wrong). This'd make it more like something like the triforce slash but 1 (or 2) hits instead of a few.

Ganondorf's final smash is probably like the bullet bill.
Ganondorf leaves, a projectile spawns and moves, then Ganondorf returns. Maybe it's a projectile because the final smash user's model disappears and is replaced by a rarely used model. Maybe Pac-Man is a projectile? Beast Ganon is also a boss (though Bowser wasn't, he was still in control).

Odd King dedede doesn't have a special "splat the screen" animation (though I guess he kind of does?) as both he and Bowser have been launched to the screen in games before. Bowser in Mario and Luigi Super Star Saga, and Dedede... in Kirby Superstar Ultra specifically (in the original he just flies off screen, but in the remake, he flies towards the screen and crashes into it). I feel like K.Rool also does that in one of the Jungle Climber games but I don't remember. He did get launched in DKC2 though and often has cartoony death animations. If anything that may be why they are notable. All the other villains are more serious...or the characters aren't villains.
