You love your child, but does your child feel loved? You might think cooking for your child is how you show love, and your child should appreciate that act of service…

But what if your child’s dominant love language is quality time? In that case, he might prefer you to read and chat with him instead. This mismatch could cause misunderstandings and lead to your child having an empty emotional tank.

The five love languages coined by Dr. Gary Chapman are

🧡 Physical touch

💛 Quality time

💚 Words of affirmation

💙 Acts of service

💜 Gifts

He recommends that you should speak all five love languages to your child because...

1️⃣ Speaking your child’s love language makes him feel loved and cared for. When his emotional tank is full, he becomes more responsive to your guidance and is more likely to cooperate without resentment.

2️⃣ When you nurture your child with all five love languages, she will learn multiple ways to give and receive love to different people she meets.

3️⃣ If you want your child to be generous and caring, the best way is to role model. When your child feels loved by you, she will imitate your behavior to show love and care to others around her (E.g. writing a note, giving a hug, spending quality time, etc)
