"Coelacanth, (sel-d-kanth)
Prehistoric fish. Fossils found in rocks of the Devonian period, 300m. years old, link this fish to all terrestrial vertebrates. It was thought to be extinct until one was caught in deep water off Madagascar in 1938 and again in 1952. It reaches up to 5ft. in length and 100 lbs. in weight."

Side One:
1. The Fish (John the Fish vocal and guitar) A true story. Glossary: Tosha - a small fishing boat; Dhan (Dan) - a floating upright pole with a flag and/or light attached to mark the position of net, lines, pots etc.
2. Willie the Weeper (John the Fish - vocal, guitar and kazoo; Alex Atterson - vocal, piano, kazoo; Derek Smith - bass) Hear this, as I first did, played by Louis Armstrong Hot Five — that's real music.
3. The Little Husband (John the Fish - vocal and guitar) A David Dearlove translation, elaboration and exageration of a French nursery rhyme.
4. Winds of Winter's Sorrow (John the Fish - vocal and guitar; Alex Atterson - piano; Derek Smith - guitar) A cold, wet, windy Winter's day in Cornwall can be so depressing —but if you get out and become part of it, it can be quite exhilarating — sometimes.
5. The Errant Knight (John the Fish - vocal and guitar) This, as do all Pete and Clive songs, conjures up some lovely pictures. 6 Slow down to my speed (John the Fish - vocal and guitar; Alex Atterson - piano; Derek Smith - bass) Wizz Jones introduced me to Alan's songs. Thanks Wizz. This one should really be my signature tune.
Side Two:
1. Mr St. Christopher (John the Fish - vocal and guitar; Alex Atterson - vocal and piano; Derek Smith - guitar) A prayer. — At the time of writing I didn't know Chris had been stripped of his halo.
2. Flowers and the Wine (John the Fish - vocal and guitar; Derek Smith - guitar) A sweet but sad little love song.
3. Babe (John the Fish - vocal and guitar; Alex Atterson - vocal; Derek Smith - guitar) One of the many fine songs that Tod Lloyd sang when he came down to the Count House a long time ago.
4. A leaf must fall (John the Fish - vocal and guitar; Alex Atterson - piano) Written by Clive and recorded by the famous Jug Band when they were at their best.
5. Pogles Wood (John the Fish - vocal and guitar) I got this from Chesh who got it from "Incredibly Average Dave" The things they get up to.
6. Goodbye to Monday Night (John the Fish - vocal and guitar; Alex Atterson - piano; Derek Smith - guitar) One of Mike Chapman's earlies.
7. Dark Town Strutters Ball (John the Fish - vocal and guitar; Alex Atterson - piano; Derek Smith - bass) — And all that jazz.
Engineered by Alan Green, Mid Wales Sound Studios, Castle Caereinion. Produced by Joe Stead.
Special thanks to Alex for the loan of his voice and fingers and to Derek for being unobtrusively—there.
Manufactured by Sweet Folk All
