Remake vs Original -- there were some pretty awful MegaMan rehashes back in the day. Some people liked Maverick Hunter X but I thought it was genuinely uglier than the SNES original. Low res 3D vs classic sprite work. No thanks.

There are tens of thousands of retro games that I've missed over the years, which I can run on my potato PC, so I'm good for a long time!

only thing that could be affected is deck pricing but valve only lowers the prices of the deck, not heightens it

WORST-ADMINISTRATION-EVER!!

Clair Obscure has Tutorials On/Off switch. And I have no idea what they are, because I turned the guide off, but you can read about them later in the menus if you want to. I had ZERO tutorials, just a warm up battle which didn't have any guide attached to it. So basically it is a zero tutorial game if you want it to be.

Well I don't really need that website Rich because you're the one that I follow for indie games I've downloaded several of them that you recommended and always been very pleased and also Russ as a matter of fact you told me about Celeste which I did a 100% on. But yeah the other way I find out about cool games is the steam next fest which is where I played the shotgun man demo and put it on my wish list so I've been waiting to play that one too

Absolutely with MGS PS1 on this, the remake just does not work, the quality of life, first person and stun mechanics, were not made for the level layout and don't gel. Not to mention the cutscenes are somewhat silly and over the top. On the flipside... I cannot go back to Tomb Raider originals after playing remastered. Those tank controls... And to be honest I was in the bottom of the ocean, exploring the wreck of the Maria Doria when they announced the remakes, so it's a game I'm always playing, but now it's just the remakes.

Sea of stars also did a similar gameplay mechanic as Clair Obscur with their timed block mechanic. I love Sea of Stars.

Looks like with the rise of prices and incomes not growing with it. I feel people will look into their backlog of Games will be more appealing. And piracy will go up

I've also come to learn that when you parry in Clair Obscur, the sequence attacks from enemies are timed about the same from tougher enemies. When you have to parry multiple times in a very short amount of time, you get use to parrying a certain way and I've found that style of parry will increase your counter attacks.

In Australia the common switch game costs $69 AUD, and the preorder pricing for Switch 2 is $99 -109 so we have a 43%+ price increase compared to the US 33%. I was under the impression that Final Fantasy 9 and 10 are regarded as two of the highlights of the series? Also im sorry but technical and spec talk aside, the phawx has some insane hot takes on video games.

I prefer the PS1 version of Star Ocean Second Story to the remake/remaster that came out a couple years ago

I immediately chose hard and decided only to parry for Expedition 33. A couple fights were a little frustrating due to the visuals and sounds cues not being as useful for me, but I made it through and am glad I chose to do it. Some of the bosses never did damage and only took one try due to predictable attacks and clarity of design.

The higher the prices, the longer ill have to wait for a good sale.

I just can't recommend buying games outside of Steam anymore! If i'm going to be spending this much money on a game, I best better be able to play it in 10 years without having to worry about having an old console!

Even though I love all you guys, when I hear you speaking I understand that I'm listening to the privileged part of the population that has the financial freedom to buy whatever they want in the gaming industry without having pains about it.

That's what keeps the industry going the way it is going, because, for more that there are people that can't afford these prices, what sustains these companies are the ones that can do it, and they have enough numbers to do that...
What I know is that I see you guys accepting everything that these companies throw at us and even what they WILL supposedly throw in the future.

I understand that the general feeling is that there's no point on boycotting anything because there will always be people to support everything, and that you guys can't really take a stand against anything because you need to be in good relations with the industry, but since gamers accepted having to login to play a game they bought physically and buying a physical copy with files to download the game, that I actually blame gamers for all of this.

I would love to see an upcoming episode looking at the PS Portal again. Now thats its been out for a bit. Perhaps comparing the portal to other handhelds. I realize its not a proper handheld, specs, etc.. but comparing the experience and your how your thoughts have changed since you covered it last time.

More developers need to have better accessibility similar to games like Soulstice (DMC clone, but not as good sadly) - not just to cater for color blind parties (like myself, which is greatly appreciated always), but difficulty slider, auto plays, etc - just let the player decide how they want to play it.

There are already some people that are not using AI to farm or create slop, it is still a minority... but you have people that are thinking about AI to create something creativity interesting and philosophical and intellectually rich. I am currently working on creating my own universe through books. And I am actually waiting for AI to be more developed and affordable for small creator like me with almost no funds and expand my vision through movies... videogames... thanks to AI. I am not saying that everybody think about this my way... But AI can as well boost voices that would never be heard otherwise.

But in return, you'd erase some of the worst parts of modern gaming: microtransactions, pay-to-win mechanics, the removal of legacy game access, exploitative pricing, always-online DRM, lazy remasters, abusive dev crunch, and loot box-style monetization.
