ОтветитьIm 13 i want too become a chef and we are going to make a cristmas dinner so this seems like the perfect side dish tysm
ОтветитьHi - have made 4 medium sized pork pies today following your recipe. Have never made hot water crust pastry before - easy. Thank you for the inspiration. Couldn't wait for them to cool and fill with gelatine, had to eat one tonight. They are delicious. You made it all look so easy and it was. Happy New Year.
ОтветитьBrother, I’ve watched at least 20 pork pie vids to find the best one and yours is by far the easiest and simplest to follow, I’m making mine tomorrow with a twist, I’m cooking them in the smoker low n slow to add some flavour, my left over pork shoulder will also be smoked to make pulled pork, then I’ll make pork pies out of that too, can’t wait
ОтветитьIt looks fantastic! No way I can get one of those tins where I live though. How can it be done without?
ОтветитьI thought pork pies were hand raised? The whole point of hot water pastry is its sturdy enough to stand alone
ОтветитьOne of my fav British classic when I visit the UK, but don’t count calories. You need to run for three hours to digest it 😂
ОтветитьYum! I get that these are call pork pies but can you substitute meat like let's say beef or chicken? thx
Ответитьvery nice ! I have subscribed, thanks for the great recipe look forward to more
ОтветитьYou Baking Porky-Pies There!?
ОтветитьWhy use clingfilm? A plate would do the same job rather than turning to single use plastic
ОтветитьHi, fab video. My darling late father loved pork pies nd he surely would have loved yours.
BTW where did you get your wonderful rolling pin ? I must be living under a stone as I have never seen one shaped like this before ?! x
Great video and pie looks delicious. Would love to try it. Have you suggestions for buying that size pie tin please?
ОтветитьGreat video. What was the size tin you used and where can they be purchased...I'm an expat living in the US
ОтветитьUse lard
ОтветитьUse white pepper never black pepper
ОтветитьBest pork pie recipe Ive seen, using pork meat instead of mince pork gives a far better pie
ОтветитьStunning
ОтветитьWow ,had no idea the jelly was injected
ОтветитьEnd result looked great. Thanks for showing the method to use the spring form!
ОтветитьAwesome your no nonsense approach was magic, you make a good tutor. & Your pastry is to die for. All butter mmmmm must say you are the first one I know to go down that route, I'm making three tomorrow from your instructions 👍👍
ОтветитьCan't find the recipe for stock
ОтветитьI'm trying this. Thanks 😊
ОтветитьMade these they were lush,1 question can I freeze the stock to use at a later date if there is any leftover ,many thanks for recipe
ОтветитьI do t understand what you mean by “protein content” of flour??
ОтветитьTypically do you only make one at a time in the oven or do bake them by the dozen or half dozen?
ОтветитьIt's always nice to see that the chef is cute.
ОтветитьEnglish Pork Pies, Not British.
ОтветитьI've got four of these moulds knocking around at home (loose bottom rather than springform, but I think they'll work too).
I'm going to have a crack at this recipe tomorrow.
Being Canadian we usually don’t make a pastry with hot water and melted fat. What is the advantage of that kind of pastry over a regular one?
ОтветитьExpat here in Germany a good soild recipe👌
ОтветитьLove it! Simple, straight to the point and I appreciate that there is no annoying/distracting background sound while talking.
ОтветитьBanging!
ОтветитьNice tasty helthy food🌹🌹🌹🌹
ОтветитьBeautiful
ОтветитьFor Americans, youre going to find pork shoulder as Boston Butt
ОтветитьPastry is WAAAAAAAY too thick!
ОтветитьTROTTERS
OT ''HAM HOCKS''
SPAM
FLOUR
SUNFLOWER OIL
HOT WATER
SIMPLES
It's a pity you can't like it multiple times :) I would if I could. It turned out soooo delicious.
ОтветитьNever butter ALWAYS lard
ОтветитьFunny how similar it is from "patés lorrain" from the Est of France. with the delicious brown "meat juice caramel"
ОтветитьLiving in Spain and we do miss pork pies so will certainly be trying these, they look amazing and a great easy to watch and learn video, thanks :)
ОтветитьTop recipe! I made this for my father-in-law who is a traditional pie lover on his 60th birthday. Only difference is I added a little sprinkling of dried sage and chives to the pork stock then served it up with some homemade pickle and English mustard. He loved it so much he demanded that I walk the mother-in-law through the recipe. (I just gave her the link to your vid so you got full credit mate!) 👌👌👍👍
ОтветитьCan’t think of any other pie that even comes close to the delicious solid perfection of a well made pork pie!
Great video, love the idea of butter pastry but I prefer the traditional lard.
The casing isn't correct IMO
ОтветитьYou just can't get pork/veal ham and egg/game pie outside UK. Not even in Singapore.
Jack, the Japan Alps Brit
Do they eat it cold?
ОтветитьDid you use salted or unsalted butter 😅
Ответитьyum
