Washington has strict zoning. No building can be taller than the Capitol. (Think that is still the law.)

As someone from the DC area (NOVA) DC itself is only about 700,000 people, so smallish, the metro area however, wayyyyyyyy bigger lol

Thanks for checking out the North East. I feel like it doesn’t get as much love in US travel videos these days(outside NYC, NYC tourism is eternal). It gets a bad reputation from other Americans but it has so much history to see and has a bunch to see in a small geographic area which is rare for the US and North America on the whole.

I have to get back down to the Reading terminal market . I'm in the northeastern suburbs of Philly in I often tell my son there are a lot of great places to see but you're lucky to be within an hour and a half of nyc, philly, the beach, the mountains, the countryside like Lancaster county etc

I'm glad you made it to Philly! Even if it was only a few hours. The historic areas of Philly are amazing. If you come back, we have so much more to offer. I see you hit the main places. Those are what I would recommend for a tourist. I hope you enjoyed your stay!

You really need to visit cities like New Orleans, Charleston, Savannah, San Antonio, Boston or San Francisco. NY, DC and Philly are nice but they are just the front door or facade to America. I’d also suggest visiting some of our top national parks— Yellowstone, Zion, Yosemite or Grand Canyon. They are unmissable.

Visit the Best coast West coast and avoid the cities. National parks go hard in these lands.

You need to see the spectacular rural America. Deserts in the southwest, the Appalachians in the east, the mountains of the west, the swamps of south Florida.

I loved your reactions in Times Square. It reminded me of one of my favorite memories: taking my family to NYC for one of my business trips during Christmas season (NYC during Christmas is incredible...highly recommend!). We turned the corner at 47th & 7th to the lights, and snow. GIANT flakes; the kind you can hear hit the ground. What an amazing experience.

Most Europeans don't understand the temperature extremes in the United States. For example, NYC city gets much colder than London in winter and it also gets much hotter than London in summer. The best times to visit NYC are May/June and September/October.

There is a reason why the Staten Island Ferry is free. Staten Island is the Southern most bit of New York City (and New York State). It's physically closer to New Jersey than to the rest of New York City. For decades the residents of Staten Island complained that it was New York City's 'forgotten borough' . In the 90s the residents voted in a referendum to secede from New York City and join New Jersey. The city and state of New York agreed to provide the residents of Staten Island with a number of concessions to convince them not to leave. One of those concessions was removing all fees from the Staten Island Ferry.

Next trip come in the summer time. From July to August the water temperature is perfect for swimming on the east coast from the mid Atlantic states south to Florida. If you like the mountains, take a trip out to the Rockies in Colorado. Better yet, the Cascades in Washington State. The Cascades are greener and there is LITERALLY a waterfall every 10 minutes because of all the precipitation they get most of the yr. Late June to August it's perfect for camping there because it's dryer than the rest of the year. California is a mess right now so if you're going to go there you had better be careful which cities you visit. Same is true for Portland and Seattle but if you want to see the Cascade mountains you can always fly into Spokaine instead of Seattle and drive west to the Cascades.

A Travel piece of advice is to visit northern regions of the US during Summer, and then the southern region in the Autumn. But there are a few exceptions, like visiting Vermont/New Hampshire/Maine in October to see the best leave color changes in the country.

Greetings. I am from Michigan. Born and raised in Grand Rapids and now reside in downriver Detroit, age 52. I am very happy you folks had the opportunity to come enjoy America. I only wish that many of my fellow Americans would have the same sense of excitement, respect and appreciation that you two clearly have. This is what truly makes America great again. Thank you for visiting and please come back soon!

The White House is smaller than the Capitol Building because it doesn't need to hold as many people in it. The White House is bigger than what you can see from the street view though, as it's actually 6 stories tall, or deep depending on how you look at it, with a lot of it being underground and including an additional 2 story deep underground bunker, subway system, and tunnels connecting to other buildings and areas. Too bad they had the water turned off at the WW2 Memorial and the Ground Zero Memorials, as they are really pretty with the pool filled, and fountains on at the WW2 area, and the water cascading down the walls of the Ground Zero Memorials. I don't know if you saw it, or even knew about it since it's not an easy Memorial to see, but as you go by the Statue of Liberty on the Staten Island Ferry, if you look past it to the left you can see the 9/11 Teardrop Memorial given to the US by Russia. It's kind of hard to notice unless your looking for it, and doesn't have a really convenient way of getting to it unless you have a car or pay for a car ride out to it and for some reason it isn't really well advertised, but it's a nice Memorial to see.
