Any sentence less than 10 yrs for attacking a police officer attempting to stop or arrest you is the bare minimum sentence that should be handed down.

Less than that is an insult to those attempting to stop criminals and an easy pass in jail given 50% of the sentence given by a judge is knocked off straight away

try that in the U.S and see what happens

Prison is all well and good, but these criminals should be made to work, chain gangs digging, send them out to keep motorways clean, litter picking etc... not sitting with three meals a day and x-box

One of the most frustrating aspects of doing the job when I was in the Irish police was the completely out of touch judges that would give out ridiculous sentences like this. I hope the crown prosecution service appealed the leniency of these sentences to a higher court.

Pure wrong what the guys in the van were upto but thanks to all the police for putting on another show on how they are unfit for purpose.

I genuinely don’t remember the last time I ever thought justice was actually delivered. Us as the Police are busy fools, we spend all our time trying to catch baddies, for them to usually face no prison time, and when they do, it’s pathetic. Four years for basically living out GTA in real life, ramming police cars, high speed pursuits, multiple thefts and burglaries… madness

Sentences not enough, the justice system is a joke and no longer a deterrent. Criminals should have to service the full term of their sentence and not early release for good behaviour.

Thanks for sharing, the more we see of these reports, the safer we feel. Sentences are completely inadequate and need at least to be doubled.Any attack on emergency workers should receive mandatory ten years inside. We have no other detterants after all.

Whilst the cars that the Police have are excellent, they're also very fragile. Neither BMW nor Audi's are designed to be able to sustain repeated damage, I think the UK police forces, at least traffic and armed police, should have wrap around ram bars like they do in the States.
