That's apparent, but nice going into the history of recess appointments, but ignoring more recent history. You only presented part of the story, since it takes mere seconds to research now.

My understanding (perhaps erroneous) is that a jury cannot convict anyone. The jury makes a finding, but unless and until the judge signs a judgment of conviction and enters it into the record, that the defendant has not been convicted of anything. Will a judge let a jury verdict sit on his desk without taking any action for four years? Absent extraordinary circumstances, I would think it’s an abuse of discretion on the part of the judge.

If we can elaborate on the constitutional right to a speedy trial, and conclude and agree that the word trial includes the complete initial adjudication all the way through sentencing and any appeal, then this case must be dismissed.
The judge can dismiss the case (effectively voiding the conviction) without prejudice. This case disappears and Bragg can start over in 2029 when Trump's final term ends.
I'm still bewildered that Trump's team hasn't gone straight to the SCOTUS. Clarification from the court could go a long way in discouraging lawfare against a president.

Trump must use other avenues. Surely it is not lawful to keep a defendant in abeyance like this. It's all the worse because it is a non-crime. It's also bad for the country. The system need to be changed to stop biased state courts attacking former presidents or other such officials and mandating bringing cases in federal court.
