I held a baby boa when I was about 6 years old, it curled around my fingers, I will never forget the strength. 
It was only about 8 weeks old but I remember it squeezing my fingers until they were blue. 
(This was in a completely controlled environment so I knew I wasn't in any danger), yet I still felt an immense sense of fear as I realised what this animal could do if it was full-grown. 
This is a memory I will never forget and is one that is still poignant in my mind. Absolutely amazing animals and one which I never wish to encounter again.

I have been strangled unconscious by a reticulated python. They need to be around your chest for them to constrict you to the point you cant get air in your lungs. When they are around your neck like that, you can breath fine the whole time. Its the stopping of blood flow from your arteries in the side of your neck to your brain that that knocks you out. From personal experience.
