I honestly have a huge phobia of snakes I can’t stand them they made the heebie-jeebies, but I will never understand for the life of me of why people have to go bother nature when nature isn’t bothering you those snakes look like they’re a mating or something and you come along and shoot them just because you have a bow and arrow and you can do it. !!!!It’s horrible I don’t like snakes at all but if you stay out of their site, they leave you alone and you ran up on them as they’re literally mating, or just seen each other after some turn apart lol or not seeing each other for a long time or something they clearly were reconnecting and you feel u have the right to just a shoot them dead just because you had a toy and can

jeez why are so many people on here sensitive about rattlesnakes? Imagine if he left them alone, then they bit some kid. Treatment for a rattler bite costs more than most peoples lifetime disposable income, so the kids parents will be assessed against assets. They will lose their house, their cars, and their jobs, and will end up homeless living on the streets injecting fentanyl and eating rats and roaches. The kid (assuming he survives the treatment) will be taken off them by the social and given away for adoption. Three peoples lives ruined, just because you thought it was not 'ethical' to smoke a rattler.
Think about this the next time you have a clear shot on a rattler and elect not to shoot.

Well I'm a bow hunter, and I'm not crazy about snakes, but I do realize they are an important part of the ecosystem. Killing two animals that are literally in the process of ensuring the future of the species, that's bad juju in my humble opinion. Hopefully they at least used the meat and hide.

If they were not threatening you or someone else and you aren't starving , leave them be . Let anything alone if not hungry or being threatened. The snakes were distracted or they would have run away.

I'm 72 and been a hunter my entire life. I don't kill any animal that I'm not going to eat and I cannot understand the mentality that kills just for the sake of killing. Why shoot these two snakes? You have no respect for wildlife.
