From the Chennai test against Bangladesh to this test match in Pune, I feel like Virat is always in a rush. I think he can give himself more time in the middle. There's no need to enforce your authority right from the get go. If Virat faces 300 balls in an innings, he is likely to score more than 100. So, his way of thinking should be how I am gonna face 300 deliveries, not how quickly I'm gonna score runs and put opposition under the pressure.

I am not a Virat critique. I personally feel he was the best test captain we had for a very long time and definitely our best batter since Tendulkar. My only problem is for both Virat and Rohit, for not playing domestic at all. SRT, Ganguly they used to play regularly in Ranji whenever there was a gap in schedule. I understand that modern players dont get as much gap as them, but why playing nonsense t20 (not anymore) and odis. Focus on your weakness against spin by playing Ranji!
Im crying this out loud for years now, for many many years, our lower middle order are performing a rescue job after another in our home series. Pant, Ash, Jaddu, Axar, Jayant Yadav, why??? Please talk about his form from 2020 he is really struggling against spin then to prove himself he started hitting spinners in IPL later failed in T20 and again struggling against spin specially in test. In last BGT also we won without him. So actually batsman are there but need to give them chance as young Kohli got earlier. He should be a responsible senior player currently seniors are letting team down while youngster carrying team in test.

My suggestion is: drop Rohit, he's just not good at test opening, and even if he's on the team, play him at no 5, let KL open instead he has been good for us for a long time. Rohit doesn't have the temperament to bat long against new ball which murali vijay and KL used to have

One thing for sure is Virat will perform in Australia as he likes playing on Australian pitches but still they have to keep a eye on his consistent failures since last 4-5 years in test cricket. His average I heard in 30s for no 4 batsman since last 4-5 years.

If the management is trying Kohli to play like Pujara/Rahane than they are making a huge mistake irrespective of the slot Kohli is playing. I think that has a double mindset whether to play in his old way or play in pujji's style.... Becoz take all of the previous test teams, we had a player who could play a whole session without scoring a single run. Eg :- Dravid, Murali vijay , pujji etc...... Now all the players in the team starting from jaiswal and rohit to sarfraz are all attacking players...... They are all players who plays to win the match...... We have no player who plays not to win the match but plays to not lose the match.....As result of such vacancy, virat is caught in a double mindset as to whether take up pujara's role so that others could play around him or play in his old style that is solid defence with a steady flow of runs coming which is also his comfort play...... I am saying this becoz, i have never seen virat get out like he did the second test match ie he was not sure whether to go for the shot or not..... This is my opinion.... What do u think????
