That only works if you have a Dell XPS 15 that has a WLAN M.2 module. The 9500 (2020 model) its integrated on the system board
ОтветитьYea i just started having issues with the killer WiFi card, i thought i was doing something wrong, all of a sudden, it was saying, no network found, then every so often when it did pick up the WiFi,, The WiFi would cut in and out, then i saw this video, yesterday i ordered the intel WIFI Card, going to give it a try, even though i still have warranty on my Laptop, i don't feel like dealing with Dell, then i have to wait, ect, I Build computers so i think i could handle installing a WIFI Card...lol.....I Hope this new WIFI Card works like everyone has been saying....
ОтветитьYou don't show how to plug in the connectors. ALL the new PCs have tiny ones that are almost impossible to reconnect
ОтветитьSay HUH???!!! You actually have to do all this stupid shit to get this machine to work right??
ОтветитьHi, first of all, this is a life saver video! Thank you!! Now, I live in Europe and my amazon can provide me only with the vPro version of the intel wireless chip. Is this the same of the non vPro? Will it work the same? What’s the differences?
Ответитьwould be cool if they still used replacable wifi cards in the newer models :(
ОтветитьI did this. I need help though. For some reason every time the laptop is restarted, I lose the drivers. We need to reinstall the drivers each reboot. Did I do something wrong?
ОтветитьIs there another spot for a WWAN card? Or does it just replace the WLAN card. Want to add 4G or 5G.
ОтветитьYa but some cards are soldered in by dell i read like mine the xps 15 7590🤷♂️🤣
ОтветитьNice video. One very important step Tyler did not mention is to disconnect battery power before removing old chip and inserting a new one. If you don't disconnect power you can easily fry your wifi chip and other too.
ОтветитьSuper helpful and I am 100% ready to do this. However, the video is now 4 years old - is there a better (but still compatible!) wifi card that you would recommend at this point?
ОтветитьDisconnect the battery before swapping parts!! You can often get away with it, but you are asking for trouble. Possible to fry components that way.
ОтветитьKiller wifi card is killer of patience. So bad. Tried everything, no ordering a different one. My last Dell, too. Unacceptable. One pays top dollar for something that breaks.
ОтветитьComputer didn’t reboot
ОтветитьKiller Wireless Card. Great name, not so great performance. At Home I am always plugged into my Thunderbolt system but I travel a lot for work, I've been dealing with this on the road for years, but this last trip I had connection drops with low speeds when connected more than ever. The last straw was a refusal to pass any data and remain connected while others around me had no problems whatsoever with a relatively close wireless router source plugged into a Cat6 data feed. This is a mission critical Intranet connection, not and Internet connection. Still a wireless data connection however. Not sure if this will be the cure I've been looking for or not but for $16.45, I'll try it out. Drivers already downloaded while I wait for Amazon Prime delivery.
ОтветитьCool. Working on a XPS 9500 now. Even after disabling the card in the BIOS, removing the drivers, it would still disconnect with USB wifi adapters. After pulling the card out itself, no issues. Now to order a new Intel WAN card. Older video, any recommendations on a newer card other than the 9260?
ОтветитьIs this what is called cnvi wireless card?
ОтветитьI have written a complaint letter to Dell regarding this. I must have a later model, as the wifi card seems to be buried somewhere else in the laptop (August of 2019). I purchased the items noted, but could not change the card. I am out $1,800 and I hope others will read my comment. I'm happy to facilitate a list of complaints from other users, not sure how to go about it. Clearly Dell knows of this problem but keeps selling defective products. Once I get a response from Dell, I'll share the results. We can work to consolidate complaints and list of users on this issue. We need to get their attention!
ОтветитьBought the wifi card today, fingers crossed!
ОтветитьWorked great, thanks for the guide.
ОтветитьI have a very old computer Dell Inspiron 1300 Window XP. The net work adapter is Dell Wireless 1370 wlan mini-pci card. Yet it said the Driver is not installed. I tried the ethernet cable to no avail. Would the Intel 9260 card worked in its place. I have been trying to download Intel driver but couldn't find or do so. Thank you.
Ответитьdell xps 15 9560 adapter killer wireless 1535 driver support hosted network is no!!!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьIt's 2022 now and do you know if the current Killer chips are any better/ reliable?
What made you choose the inter 9260?
Awesome Video! BTW, What is the Wi-Fi card format called (i.e Mini PCI-e, etc.)?
ОтветитьSomeone could point me to the correct replacement cart for a XPS 15 9500 ? (thanks in advance)
ОтветитьI have the xps 15 9510, will this wifi card work with that?
ОтветитьApparently the WLAN card in my M4800 is a different size.
Ответитьgreat video thanks for the help
ОтветитьHey Tyler, is the killer card also providing the Bluettoth on these laptops or do you know where the bluetooth hardware is on the laptop as no matter which drivers i download, my BT does not work, nor is it even seen in Windows 10. I'm hoping a change of card can fix that. Thanks in advanced!! Great vid btw :)
ОтветитьDoes anyone reccomend a good card for the xps 15 9520? I dont understand anything about notebooks so not sure which one to buy
ОтветитьIs anyone having issues on xps 15 9530 in 2023 with the 4060 card?
ОтветитьOoops, what? Black to White, and White to Black?
ОтветитьDL the new drivers to where? If the new device is not installed yet??
ОтветитьIs the Intel 9260NGW WiFi Card, still the fastest wifi card upgrade available for the Dell XPS 15 9570?
ОтветитьI dont know if this going to work, just ordered the card, but if it works I owe you a beer
ОтветитьI just got an xps 15 and I have wired modem internet so I connected with a usbc Rj 45 internet adapter and unfortunately the damn thing won't connect to the internet.
ОтветитьI cannot attach my antenna cables. I'm not sure. I'm not sure how to fix them.
Ответитьi just did the same thing , i mean the black and white cable connected to position instead of to the color marking lable... which give me a scary BSOD when turn on the power..... luckily i didn;t burn the card or anything.... i then swap the cable and connect them according to the label on the wifi card.... and it works fine. lucky.
ОтветитьBest wifi ever = Killer. TOP!! 1650x bears all successors 😊Bought many of them and uograded many notebook.
ОтветитьSo interestingly. My XPS 15 had an extra wire attached to the antennas. But when I took of the cables from the old unit one of the connectors broke so I had no choice but to just try to boot with this one lol. But it totally worked! Didn't even have to install new drivers
ОтветитьExcellent video, followed you exactly and it now works perfectly.
ОтветитьI was facing the same issue , bumped into your video. My wifi card arrived today and I replaced it. Big thanks to you for the one time perfect solution , was having terrible disconnection with the killer card . Have a wonderful day .
ОтветитьI have a Dell 1500 5570. It never had a good wifi connection. I had to use eithernet to update or use.
ОтветитьWhat would you recommend as an improvedw WiFI card for a Latitude 7490 that currently has an AC8265 NGW?
ОтветитьMy previous comment was removed, but I still want to let you know the replacement of the Killer card with an Intel AX200NGW worked perfectly. The trickiest part being the T5 (Torxx-5) screws, no idea why they use screws that vulnerable. Did not disconnect the battery, as I probably should have done. Wifi speed magnitudes faster and far more reliable. Thx for clear instruction on how to do this.
ОтветитьYou are wrong with making the statement, "all models". The Dell XPS 9500 15" does not have the WiFi card where you indicated. That is the I/O card on my model. The Killer WiFi card is SOLDERED unto the board. It is located below the board you are removing. As far as I know, you would need to replace the System board if you have any issues! Also, you have no upgrade options except what is soldered on the board.
ОтветитьWhy do you refer to the wifi card that comes with the Dell laptop as the "killer card"? For the sake of alliteration?
