Would it be wise to start shopping around and get salesman on the hook? I have great credit and great debt to income ratio. I figured if I let them know what I want and serious about a purchase they would try to give me a good deal instead of wasting their time. I gave a Ford salesman my info because I was interested in a Raptor Ranger and he didn't even reach out to me. Guess I didn't fit the financial profile.

Jaguar died the moment they discontinued V8s. They were known for premium performance. Aggressive and elegant is in their traditional name and logo. They went from being a performance vehicle company to a company trying to make a political/DEI, non-vehicle related brand. They might as well open up shop in malls and sell hand bags.

All the Dealers in my area are 4 to 5K over KBB, I understand KBB is a guideline but NONE of the dealers in the area will even negotiate a lower price at all, I am in the market for a newer used SUV but i am not paying 5K over KBB, I am not that stupid and i think many of the dealers actually believe they will be Bailed out like so many times in the past, NOT GOING TO HAPPEN

People that grew up on microwave food don't have the patience to actually do any effort. A year ago a great Cayman came up in Scottsdale so I flew out and drove back to Texas on T Day. It was a few K under retail. Just a few days ago a nice HD sportster came up in Austin so I emailed them, drove over and got them to lower the price 10% by paying cash before they had to spend a lot on advertising it. I'll go back and get it with my truck/trailer tomorrow.

I was going to try saying something rational, but l don't think new car buyers are into rational yet. Hint, it involves changing expectations of what the basic purpose of a car is.

There's a dealership selling a used 2022 wrx, the most theyd budge is 500 bucks. Ive got phenomenal credit, I came in with pre-approved financing, insurance quoted. They wanted 30.7k otd and I mentioned i wanted to get it for 29K otd. They wouldn't budge. The economy sporty cars are difficult to negotiate in my area I guess.

The dealerships know once you fly, you are stuck there without vehicle. Was going to fly, but after giving zip, wouldn’t get OTD final price, for cashiers check. No OTD price=no fly.

Last year as I was looking for a LEAF; I did the things you are mentioning. Dealers were not interested in budging on prices more than say $500. They didn't care even when cars were on the lot for 120-180 days.... even a few cars that were on the lots for 250 days.... they didn't want to come down more than 5k despite their car being like 14k above market value at the time. Many dealers weren't willing to drop off their add-ons as well.
I literally would text them, show them my bank balance, call them on the phone and email them my offers.... most didn't reply or came back with a full price invoice and said that I have to "pay to play" or "money talks".
