Was with him until the very end where he said "here we all are now despite that [human brutality and massacres]" - maybe there aren't wars taking place in USA soil in the name of oil, but it is worse than ever across the world. I would have liked for him to explained what he meant by foreign policy in relation to today. Is Meyer suggesting that Americans (humanity) still has things to learn, and can learn this by looking back at their own violent past? I hope so, however his final statement makes me question that. I shall go and have a look for more interviews for the answer!

I'd like to talk to Philip Meyer at some point. Him and Cormac McCarthy.

One of the best books that I have ever read........twice, because I savored every word of it..... pictured and felt every character. The TV series did a great injustice to this book..............
