Great video! The first school must have been really nice in its prime. It was definitely better than the one I graduated from. MJ's childhood home was interesting. Be safe out there.
ОтветитьI was a little afraid for your safety, as you were walking through those old buildings. Keep the videos coming
ОтветитьYou could not pay me to walk through that town.
ОтветитьWhen you asked the price of the motel & he said... "for the whole night?" I don't know why, but I've always had a fascination with abandoned places. This is probably one of the few places where you can explore at your leisure and not have to worry about catching a trespassing charge. If this place was within 15 miles of any city on the West Coast, I guarantee you it would NOT be empty.
ОтветитьThe first thing I thought of was the Music Man song, Gary Indiana when I saw the title. (shows my age) This was very interesting. I forgot that Micheal Jackson was from there. Seeing all those closed schools. and businesses...so sad how far that city has fallen.
ОтветитьThis is entertaining
ОтветитьThe start of this is like a covid Anti-Tourism video 🤣
ОтветитьI was born and raised in southern Philippines where theres constant war between muslim rebels and the government army. Even some of my relatives joined the rebellion including my brother. My clan is a notorious one in this town and everyone respects us for our courage and bravery. When I was young till now, I always thought Im the toughest and bravest person in the world, even my revel brother just wouldnt easily try me. But after I saw you going in to that school, I could say youre a brave guy
ОтветитьThe whole town looks creepy
Ответитьthis reminded me of vagrant holiday
Ответитьas someone who is in gary very often, the more north you go, the more dangerous. so you were on 5th ave.. and you were walkinh on bullet shells in horace mann. i was there like a week before you went here lol. hope u had fun tho!
ps. 10pm-2am is most dangerous, then some stuff around 7am, then ur chilling
You are brave! I could never go there. I live in VA near DC and I dont even go near there because of how dangerous it is out there. Interesting content!
ОтветитьContinue please I like 😊
ОтветитьI kept expecting his flashlight to hit a group of the monsters from “ I am Legend “ in those dark rooms… awesome stuff 🤙🏻
ОтветитьThey saying 80$ because they know u new in Hood, that motel look like it cost 40$
ОтветитьI didn’t see any people walking around but you..surprised the goons didn’t get ya! Becareful
ОтветитьKeep it going. Im a new sub. Your content and editing is 👏🏽👏🏽💯
ОтветитьThat motel is most likely hourly boss. It's a hooker spot
ОтветитьYou would have to pay me $80 to stay there…even then, I’d say nah
ОтветитьOmg!!! That hotel looks scary asf!!! Lol be safe dude.
ОтветитьThe first school you visited is called Horace Mann. My friend Deb used to teach there and she took me on a tour of that and also the abandoned Emerson School, both arts magnet schools. We have endless stuff to see here in Gary. Not all of it is doom and gloom though Inhighly recommend the abandoned Methodist Church. People come from all over the world to see that place. We also have a Natiinal Park, uncrowded white sand beaches and some cool cemeteries
ОтветитьYou have some serious balls man, that school was creepyyyy
ОтветитьGoogle the address intersections & school to see what schools they were. The computer remnants looked like it was from the 80's
ОтветитьThe Amish are really dangerous.
ОтветитьGary has awesome firework stores and thats about it! ✌🏻
Ответитьthe school in your outro is Rosevelt.
ОтветитьThey were def giving you a B.S. price for a room at that dump. My guess is that it serves as an SRO for semi-long term tenants and as a really busted down love shack for others. There's a few budget friendly chain hotels in Gary for $20 less that I'm sure are 300% cleaner (at that's saying something). Kick ass vid though! As a Chicagoan I've always been fascinated by Gary.
ОтветитьNo more dangerous than Indianapolis
Ответитьi live a town over from gary. i never drive through there lol
ОтветитьHey❤ I'm from Gary Indiana!! My parents and most of my family were born and raised there too. The high school you gone into was called Horace Mann. My Dad gone there in 1982. He told me that the school was beautiful and prideful. All schools here are very prideful. To this day, people talk about their schools like its a college frat or sorority. There is even alumni parties for each school.
Schools got abandoned bc people left for other places and developed new communities that are near like Miller, Merrillville, Munster, Griffith and ect. People say the "white flight" and the closing of the U.S Steel mills and a greedy mayor is why people left as well.
While the place looks dead, people frequent here for family reunions, church on Sunday, and go to the beach nearby.
Growing up I always hear stories of its golden age in the 70s and 80s. The love that people have for this place is still present. I just wish it reflected it physically.
Paying $80 for bed bugs and HIV is WILD
ОтветитьUS Steel WAS still there.
Now it’s been bought out.
The mills didn’t leave, there was HUGE cuts & layoffs
Signs for a dump ?!?!
BWAHAHAHAHAH 🤣🤣🤣
The whole damn city is a dump 🤣🤣🤣🤣
US Steel didn’t leave Gary…
ОтветитьI deliver for Amazon at 3am, I hate when I get assigned Gary.. place ain't no joke..
ОтветитьI live 10 minutes from Gary. I don’t even drive through Gary let alone camp there. 😝
ОтветитьI live in Kokomo... Gary isn't that bad anymore... Anderson however is terrible. Be safe out there man.
ОтветитьCool video! 👍🏽
ОтветитьGET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE WITH THIS CORNY ASS VIDEO I LIVE IN GARY AND LIVED HERE FOR A LONG TIME YOU SHOWING THE ABANDONED BUILDINGS NOT THE GOOD SIDE
ОтветитьGary Indiana needs religion real bad these days folks 😮

ОтветитьWow what an adventure
ОтветитьThe money time and effort wasted on all that spray paint.
ОтветитьI wouldn’t have stayed there for free
ОтветитьYou're a brave man 💪
ОтветитьWhy tf would you camp in ghetto gary?
ОтветитьUS Steel did not move out! They are still there. The fall of Gary is not from that but from the rise in crime. The people that live there now have no pride in their city. The city's downfall is all on them. I grew up in Gary and would still be there if it wasn't such cluster f..k. There are all kinds of jobs around here. Most people there just want to skip by. You guys and your videos don't know what you are talking about!!!
ОтветитьWhy would you stay in Gary? For a you tube video? You are lucky to still be alive...just dumb for a video that there are hundreds online telling how bad Gary is....nothing new!!
ОтветитьGreat video touring the other side of America.
ОтветитьCrazy how much that school has deteriorated! I was first in there in 2009 and it was pretty much clean as a whistle, just a little cluttered from people rooting around looking for stuff to steal. Almost no tagging and certainly no fire damage like there is now all over the auditorium. Now the whole place is a total wreck! And that's in one of the nicer, more-populated parts of Gary..... (Another commenter mentioned Emerson school, which is across town in a much sketchier neighborhood). By the way, I'd estimate about 99% of the people who live in Gary are friendly and I've never felt it unsafe in any of my countless trips there. I wouldn't say the same of Detroit, just to name one example.
